We booked this hotel because of its close location to the Naples airport, which we used as a departure point for a trip to Sicily. Its website says it is a 5 minute drive, and, on the map, it seems a stone's throw from the runways. But, this hotel does not offer the usual, or even basic amenities, one would expect in the U.S. from an airport-area hotel. First, costly transfers. We arrived in Naples at 10 p.m. and was to leave on a morning flight the next day. No shuttle from the hotel -- free, paid or otherwise. (I was later told there was one that runs between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. -- don't know if it's free.) So, we had to take a 25-euro taxi, and that, we were told by the Naples taxi drivers, was a deal, because the hotel is located in Casoria, not Naples, and was not covered by the flat-rate fees. Our taxi the next morning cost 22-euro. So, a significant expense to tack on to the room. Second, no elevators. Travelers from airports often have luggage. We had to carry our bags up to the third floor (second floor according to European numbering). Third, poor maintenance. The electrical outlet over the desk was broken. Fourth, odd design. The bathroom is a half step up from the floor level -- a potential hazard. The lights and air conditioning don't work unless your key card remains in a slot by the door. So, if you leave the room -- say, to get a drink from the lobby -- the a.c. shuts off. The hotel is also located in an unattractive neighborhood. Two plusses: the staff did order the taxi for us in the morning, and opened breakfast early, so we could grab something before we headed out. But, that did not offset the negatives. In sum, I would recommend finding a different hotel, if desirous of staying near the airport.

I will NEVER EVER go to this hotel again and I will NEVER EVER recommend this to anyone.
The walls of the room are very thin so you can hear almost everything from all the rooms around you. Also, this hotel is more a place where people have their booty calls, dirty noisy extremely loud people during the entire night. We've changed room in the middle of the night, but this helped nothing. So: DON'T GO TO THIS TERRIBLE PLACE.

We wanted to be near the airport for late arrival and early departure so Hotel Daytona in Cassoria was perfect. Beautiful modern hotel inside but located in a scruffy industrialised area beside a motorway. Near airport but well soundproofed. NOTE: This hotel does not do dinner on Sundays but the lovely receptionist arranged a free taxi to and from nearest restaurant. Waiters friendly and helpful. main purpose of visit was to visit Pompei which was amazing but as taxis way to expensive we took a train from Pompei to Naples. NOTE: Do not take trains late at night. Full of dodgy characters! One evil looking guy never took his eyes off us the whole journey and thought we were going to get followed out of the station so we quickly jumped in a taxi back to hotel. Very few trains or buses on Sundays. We couldnt find the bus stop from hotel to Cassoria train station to visit naples so we had to walk an hour in the hot sun to reach it, through dodgy streets, across the motorway NOTE: Italian drivers are manic and there are no rules for pedestrians and don't stop at zebra crossings so you're life is in your own hands! When we got to Naples train station we were excited to see the sights. The immediate surrounding area is very dangerous as we found out to our cost when we were accosted by 2 pickpockets..one in front of me causing a distraction with the other behind my partner trying to get his hand in his rucksack. He pushed them away immediately and we ran back to the station and stayed there before getting a taxi back to the hotel. All in all Pompei is amazing but stay in a better area. Avoid Naples at all costs! We found it scruffy, graffiti and rubbish everywhere and our experience made us completely on our guard and feeling paranoid. I am sure there are some lovely areas with lovely people but our experience made us feel completely uncomfortable. Will never return.
