Full-Day Tour to Saharna and Tipova Cave...

It's a bad road leading to the monastery. There are several churches inside, plus the caves on the hill above. It's a nice place to visit. Toilets are a shame.

On the entrance head scarfs and apron like skirts can be borrowed if your dress code is not to the rules. What you do experience with that attire is that it is hard to walk around with, so end up taking it off once you get to the woods. I tried to keep it on, but skirt did not allow appropriate steps while walking up and down the hills and the head scarf made me hyperventilate in the heat.
After the monastery, there are many paths to walk. One takes you to a waterfall, which has extremely dirty poll underneath. Plastics everywhere. Also in September there is not much water, so waterfall in miniscule. Path to the right, after the bridge, takes you to cave monastery, but not much further, the path is blocked. You can see some continue to the caves, but to me it did not seem safe (steep hill, narrow path, no safety line), so we did not go further. If you go left, you go uphill. But I would say, do not bother. Path goes two ways, by the cross. On the left you do not get far it seems to be a deserted path to somewhere. If you go right, it takes you to some monument on top, but it is small, and the top offers no views. Also when we got there, there was a pack of stray dogs there and it did not make us feel comfortable. We did not find a path to a chapel on top to get a view of a monastery from above. Maybe we were not paying enough attention.
There is also a pool in the woods. But I have no idea what is it attention.

A nice monastery, but you need also to have a nice walk in the surrounding nature. The monastery is open by daylight (not sure they have official opening hours). To reach the walking path you can cross the monastery, or find alternative paths from the village. Nice walk along the river. On the very first trail on the right you walk up and reach a huge (!) net of caves (formerly a stone-pit). Pay attention not to lose your way (and bring a torch), it is vast and thrilling. After the caves, you reach the top of a hill, from which you have a great view on surrounding nature and river Dniestr.
