A familiar establishment, ideal both for a casual meal or some tapas. Local dishes, home cooking. It seems to be very popular among locals, and this is always a good sign. Good prices.

We found it hard to understand the great popularity of this restaurant: while we were there, a large number of people who hadn't booked were turned away and it's no. 1 on the Trip Advisor list.
Good points: helpful and rapid service.
Bad points: Apart from stressful over-crowding and noise:
Poor quality food.
My salad was drowned in vinegar and not fresh.
A dish called Pastele was served up in both savoury and sweet guises, a sickly sweet mess of semolina: sugar in a savoury dish is not acceptable, the leek (puerros) version had never been near a leek.
The mushroom croquettes had not been near a mushroom.
Sorry, can't recommend.

Dear Duchessa,
We are gladly full almost every day. We never turn away people, just give them the option of coming later: as you might understand, we will provide good food and good service to our customers, so we won't just seat them with no previous booking to give a poor service if we are already fully booked.
Tripadvisor is a popular ranking site ranked by normal people, so they deserve your respect to their opinions.
Our DUO DE PASTELES is one of the most famous and best rated dishes (I lived in England and what you call Pastel is not the same as what we call Pastel, you can always ask first).
Leeks have always been leaks and boletus are always fresh to be transformed with the croquettes, what a pity you didnt feel it like that.
Best regards,
Laura.

Wandered in here after seeing the cave paintings, attracted by the reasonably priced menu del dia. This looks like a little bar with some tables, but there is clearly a lot of action in the kitchen. First course was an outstanding local meat & bean stew, 2nd course was good fried fish. The waitress spoke English & was helpful. The menu is very large if you don't want the daily special.
