We did the 3 day guided walk/kayak option during cyclone Gabrielle! I was so impressed with the way our guides pivoted to re-arrange our plans to give us the best possible experience despite the adverse weather conditions. Their skills and flexibility meant we had a safe and enjoyable time. They went the extra mile to accomodate our desire to kayak. The food was amazing, the accomodation gorgeous, the guides were knowledgeable and fun. All in all a safe, fun, value for money way to experience this beautiful corner of our country. Highly recommended.
It’s worth going with a guide for their local knowledge and stories.

Joined one day cruise-and-walk with Wilsons Abel Tasman as it suited our needs the best. Chose the extended trip to Totaranui and stopped at Anchorage for a walk and beach time in the afternoon. Stunning view of the Abel Tasman National Park along the coastal side on the water, even had dolphins jumping out of the water on our way back to Kaiteriteri. Pleasant 1.5 hours walk to the Pitt Head with great views. The boys even managed to have a splash in the water at Anchorage Bay before being picked up. Better to have a jacket with you on the cruise even on a beautiful summer day, as it could be very windy or even a bit cold on its way out to the Totaranui Bay.

The whole experience was a seamless package with great kiwi guides in Liana Hazel & Doc. The excellent food and friendly hosts at the lodges brought out the best in their guests in what was sometimes uncomfortable weather. The hikes were well planned and achievable but the kayaking was spectacular. The Boat trips were surprisingly pleasant, and we loved the good coffee. Although the lunches had rather stodgy buns and green tart apples they were also more than adequate & filling. All the Meals were absolutely fabulous but our favourite meals (though the steak at the end was very good) it was the unique flavours and use of cullenary toppings that gave Michelle the Top Chef award. I would have really enjoyed a mussell and pipi hotpot or chowder one night to show off & share our good quality NZ seafood to the other visitors as well. Axel the bus driver needs commending on his great driving skills on what was often narrow wet roads and his awesome baggage handling skills ...NO Bag left behind....Thankyou for a great break away from our ROCKUP business... we will definitely recommend Wilsons as a great NZ Outdoor Specialist Business.

Thank you so much for mentioning all of the team who work together to make your trip safe and enjoyable. Food is always controversial. Our chefs work so hard to please everyone but personal tastes and seasonal supply issues mean this is not always possible.

We had the best time walking the Abel Tasman track with our fabulous and friendly guides, Liana snd Hazel. We don’t usually do guided tours but with the tidal changes and needing to do river crossings it felt a lot safer with Liana and Hazel. We also got to do some kayaking in the estuaries which was fabulous. The accommodation was five star, the meals were delicious and we loved our packed lunches. We loved meeting other fellow travellers who were also keen to hike the track. This is a walk of a lifetime and we loved it. .

Organised a group of 15 Aussies to do the 5 day walk and had a fantastic time! The walk was harder than we thought but that just added to the satisfaction of completing it. Our accommodation and food were excellent but the real bonus were our guides, Liana and Hazel, who were knowledgeable and very personable. The walking tracks are well formed and the views amazing. The 5 day program worked very well for us having a couple of lighter days after the long kilometre days. Booking was easy and the staff were helpful. The bonus of this walk is that you can walk as little or as much as you like. Some members of our group came into the walk carrying injuries so they were able to still be part of our group and use the water taxis when they felt they couldn’t walk the whole section rather than have to opt out of the trip. We had lots of fun, laughs and made new friends along the way
