Being on the wrong side of 60 and not into hiking we chose to take the 4 hour Wilsons boat trip from Kaiteriteri.
Some amazing photo ops and a very informative crew who provided lots of interesting info as we cruised in and out of bays and made stops up to Totaranui and back.
There was also time at acouple of stops to get off a and look around. You can even get off and catch a later boat if you wish to do some hiking.
Highly recommended.

We did Kaiteriteri to Totaranui coastal cruise which lasts Three and half hours.
Departed from Kaiteriteri and stayed on-board the Vista Cruise to enjoy Abel Tasman experience.
Thoroughly enjoyable cruise unfortunately we encountered cloudy, windy and occasional rain. Not ideal weather but we still enjoyed the experience and scenery.
Staffs were good and helpful.
Commentary on-board was not the best but still managed.
Must do cruise in Abel Tasman National Park. There are numerous options including Kayaking. Walking, spend time on beach or just Cruising.

This park has so many gorgeous places. We took the Wilson cruise (Seals and Beach) out to Tong Quarry. There we disembarked and hiked through beautiful woodlands, rainforst, etc. to Medlands Beach. It is fairly easy walking on a packed dirt path. Around every bend is a mind blowing view. We caught the next Wilson boat from there and stopped at Anchorage Bay. What a wonderful spot with a nice beach and rock "caves" to explore. We were the only ones on this private beach area. So peaceful! Then back to the boat and returned to Kaiteriteri to catch our bus. All worked perfectly. One comment- bring your own lunch. If you wait to buy it in Kaiteriteri there is limited selection and everyone else is doing the same thing. This causes a bit of a ruch to get through check out lines, etc.

We did the Kayaking tour (the one that had seals in the name!) and it was really amazing! Our tour guide was Nathan who was absolutely great! So knowledgable and really friendly. Seeing baby seals jump into the water off the rocks was a highlight! The walk after the kayaking was great too with some lovely views finishing off on the beach. Thanks Nathan for a great trip!
