We went on the 3 day walk. A friendly group of fellow walkers, the scenery is superb, and the lodge accommodation excellent considering how remote they are. Two lovely sunny days, opportunity for a swim at Bark Bay, and then Day 3 ... We can’t really say enough about how great our guides were as they walked us out of the park with Cyclone Gita rolling in. The conditions were not great but we never had any doubt that they would get us out safely. We had been looking forward to this for over a year, because we had to cancel our entire trip the year before, and we weren’t disappointed. Very impressed with the whole company from beginning to end.

Thank Ann P

My wife and I started our NZ holiday with 3 days at Abel Tasman, with Wilson's. We were attracted by the combination of sea kayaking and walking in this National Park. Our only disappointment was that we had not booked the 5-day option - basically the 3 days of our trip, with rest days or side trips in between!
We had 3 excellent guides in Rewa, Whitey and Scotty. With the staff at their base in Motueka, at the lodges and on the boat back, they were all knowledgeable, helpful and keen to offer a great experience.
Our group included people of all ages (including the fittest 80+ year old I think I have met!) and from around the world, leading to some interesting discussions and shared perspectives.
We had reasonable fitness but not much kayaking experience - and felt comfortable and safe in the kayaks (but the arms were a bit sore at the end of day 1).
We elected to walk the second day, and the scenery was as stunning from the track as it is from the water.
The lodges were in spectacular locations, offering a sense of seclusion but still with an excellent standard of comfort and food. Alcoholic drinks can be purchased each night.
My partner, requiring to eat gluten free, had absolutely no issues and enjoyed the culinary offerings each day.
Our trip was great fun, a little bit challenging, well informed and supported by the team - a great start to our NZ holiday.

My wife and I have wanted to do the Abel Tasman for about 10 years. With so much lead up and hype on our part it could have easily be a disappointment...quite the opposite. Our trip was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Our guides were very knowledgeable, engaged and great fun. The trio of Brigitte, Rob (or Robin or Robbo depending in the day) and Jasinta helped create an extremely memorable experience. The lodge staff were also great and provided a fun environment with amazing food and surprisingly comfortable lodging.
One of the days we were not able to Kayak as the water conditions were a little wild to say the least, but this didn't put a damper on the trip in the least. As such I would recommend that people prepare for the possibility of tramping more than if you were just Kayaking. My wife regretted not taking a 'true' tramping day pack.
So in short - do this trip!!!! It is well worth it and something that we are extremely glad that we have now done.

Thank Darryl S

We did the 3 day hike-kayak tour with Wilsons last Feb. It was an excellent trip due to their super guides and support staff. The two lodges were well staffed, food was good and the rooms were fine. But the experience was made by lead guide Ian the squid, hiking guide Brigitte and kayaking guide Rob. Their attention to client comfort was perfect.
