Staff at this hotel were very friendly we were upgraded to a superior room which had a great big bed (room51) Spa as indicated by other guests needed some TLC. Water in changing room floors everywhere pool a bit cloudy . One bad point breakfast appeared to be more for work people hence breakfast finished at 9am we arrived at 8.15 am and selection was decimated with no one trying to tidy up 2 eggs left swimming in grease ,mushrooms burnt and black with what remained . I think someone from the kitchen should have done something about this ,what was left was barely edible.

I have recently returned from a visit to Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, South Wales and can recommend the Best Western Diplomat Hotel where I stayed on my first evening. The hotel has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere when you walk in. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I dined in the restaurant and found the food to be of a very high standard. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone traveling within this area will have a very pleasant stay iftbey choose this hotel.

This is a Best Western Hotel in a Welsh town. If you are over critical it will ruin your experience but if you go with the flow and let the staff (who are lovely) look after you all will be well with the world. This is our second (family) trip and it ticks all the boxes for us, in terms of location for onward travel, closeness to Swansea for a bit of retail therapy (great selection of shops for general shopping) a good spa (including beauty treatments) and the restaurant which for me is this hotels saving grace! We had two evening meals and both were fabulous. Its a higgedly piggedly hotel that needs a bit of loving tlc in the form ofrefurbishment investment or a darn good manager to smarten it up around the edges (both seem to be lacking). Avoid rooms 51 and 43 they are at the end of the corridor and above the boiler, very hot!! All rooms face to the front with the car park/road so could be noisy with windows open. The bedding towels and hotel is very clean (beauty area needs a bit of a deep clean for my taste, being in the business). Pool was a bit gloopy when we were there (other reviews have the same comment). As I say a bit of good management would sort out the day to day issues! I would recommend and I would return! Welsh hospitality to be enjoyed!

Room tip: Avoid rooms 51 and 43 at the end of the corridor!

Stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights while visiting the area and catching up with some friends. The location is OK 10 minute walk to the town... however the town realy isn't worth a visit.

The Hotel was very quiet, which was ok as it meant that it was very peaceful at night and therefore you get a good night's sleep. Did have to keep the window open also as the room was very hot and still we were not disturbed which is good. Bed big and comfy.

We ordered room service twice, we weren't expecting much after bad experiences with room service else where but the food was delicious! We realy enjoyed it both nights and not too expensive either (only £3 tray charge).

Breakfast was good... plated instead of buffet due to the hotel being so quiet, the breakfast staff were very nice. Not a great continental selection & would prefer to have own pots of tea and coffee on the table, but the hot food was well cooked.

The spa was OK. Not the cleanest, the first night we went down there was no one around at the desk we waited about 5 mins and one of the members told us to just sign in and go in as she wasn't sure where the staff member was... then when we got in the pool was luke warm and realy murky. The 2nd time we went in it was a bit cleaner but still not great.

I gave this Hotel 4 stars as it would deserve that if they just gave the place a lick of paint and paid a bit more attention to detial and if there was a bit more presence from staff, the place seemed a bit lifeless.

Overall we did have a good stay.

Ordered cod and chips in the bar. Delivered to the table in good time. Courteous and friendly bar staff. Well presented food, tasty cod, dressed salad and proper home style chips. Lots of choice on the menu and a well stocked bar, with a great selection of local ales, lagers, cider and other beverages. Very pleased with the visit.
