As a family of 7 (Mum, Nan, great aunt, cousin, brother, partner and myself) we were looking for a nice private quiet spacious villa. We searched many websites but couldnt find anything which fitted our needs. Then we came across Marianna II, which was perfect. It has 5 rooms, all ensuite, 2 being twin rooms. It has a large living space, also a utility room on the first floor. You have the usage of both back and front of the outside area, with a BBQ sitting area at the back which is a sun trap. The front has a nice sized pool, a ping pong table and a nice relaxing seating area. The villa is surrounded by banana plants, which was amazing-this didnt mean we were infested with bugs. Across from the villa is the sea caves, lovely place to visit. We visited some lovely local resturants.Christiania, villa owner, was lovely and very informative. She was always on hand if we needed her and she was very welcoming. I would recommend hiring a car to visit the main town, shops, resturants and beaches- Unless you are happy getting cabs.By car- Paphos airport is about 40mins away, Coral bay is about 15mins, the best local cheap supermarket, Philippos, is about 10 mins, Sunset restuarant 10mins and Spilies Tavern Bar 10mins. I would recommend this Villa to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. There is also a smaller Villa, 4 bed, owned by the same people which is not to far from Marrianna II but does not impose on this villa.
I've been traveling to this area of Cyprus for many years and to be honest have always found quality accommodation for my stay .
This Year however I brought my Mother in law , and my youngest son and his girlfriend to this beautiful island.
We all agreed the villa is excellent and of a high standard . We used both the bbq and kitchen each day for lunch or dinner and drifted between the near by coral bay and our villa pool .
Our favourite place to eat is Savvas tavern on the back road to peyia centre , cocktails are top draw at Dionysus in coral bay and I like the Guinness there .
The villa is secluded within a banana plantation to the front and pomegranates to the rear , that said there are many properties within sight from the upper floor .
All in all a most relaxing break , and Christiana visits to check all is well from time to time and easy to contact , the whole experience of booking our villa was very good and I recommend it highly.
Stayed here for a week in June, and couldn't fault anything. The pool, table tennis, fusball, pool table and darts make for a great entertaining time. The kitchen is big so perfect for cooking big meals (7 of us), and having the option of eating out the back or the front was really good too.
Recommend visiting the tavern directly across from the villa, great food and cocktails, and also a good spot for a swim in the sea caves!
There is a supermarket about 10 mins drive away, and Paphos was only half an hour ish in a taxi.
The owners were great with any questions we had but mainly left us to it, so would definitely recommend this villa.
On the plus side the location (in a banana grove) is secluded with reasonably easy access (by car) to Paphos and Coral Beach. Externally there is plenty of room and sunny areas (though being by the coast it can be windy). Internally the villa is spacious downstairs though the bathrooms and bedrooms are small and some furnishings dated. The pool is large but too cold to use in April and the pool heating (which was then being advertised - and was the reason we chose this villa) did not work. The games options (pool + fussball tables, table tennis) are good, but the satellite TV is mainly Arabic channels.
In April the solar heating/immersion tank for internal water (showers, etc) is unreliable. It presumably works in high summer.
