Really clean rooms. Breakfast lots of choices from full breakfast to cereal toast etc. Staff really helpful. Supermarket just up the road. Only down side was that the pools were really cold. Bus stop at the top of the road. 2 people to Lagos €3.20

Almost cancelled this holiday due to the reviews but so glad we didn’t. Great hotel in great location, the grounds and pools were immaculate, the rooms although a bit dated were cleaned, fresh towels and bedding replaced daily. There was a great choice of breakfast to cater to all tastes, the staff very helpful and friendly, couldn’t do enough to help. The only downside was the closed pool bar, however as we had the pool area practically to ourselves most days can see why that would not be viable. Would certainly recommend this hotel.
Currently at Luz Bay Hotel, I read the negative reviews and was dreading my holiday. Pleasantly surprised, staff in reception all day long and always willing to help. As for the divers in the pool, I've been here for 6 days and haven't seen a single one. There are plenty of sunbeds and two adult and a child's pool. The grounds are well maintained and very pretty. It is a short walk to the beach and the bus stop to Lagos is only a two minute walk. If you are feeling adventurous you can walk the coastal path, be prepared for a bit of a climb to start. Yes the hotel isn't 4 star but they are not charging 4 star prices. All in all we have had a super holiday and would return.
With some of the reviews on here we were apprehensive about our stay….
Let’s say I was pleasantly surprised and couldn’t fault the place.
The bed had bed toppers and was very comfortable, the air con worked perfectly, the fridge was full sized with enough space for ice in the freezer…. The balcony had table and chairs and had a perfect view of the pools. The bathroom was clean and the shower was excellent….
The pools were superb… one for small kids one for families and an adult pool too which had a depth of 2.8 m….. which is why the diving school ( which is on site) use. They come for approximately only 1 hr in the morning (11-12) and was interesting to watch.
The position of the hotel is excellent ….more or less a flat walk round to bars and restaurants and the beach.
In Luz there are 2 excellent supermarkets so you could stock up on beers drinks food and nibbles….. and keep them in the good sized fridge….
The staff were friendly and approachable… the cleaners were available every day…. And the towels were plenty.
I would recommend this place and look forward to returning again .

Booked a standard room ,but was given superior room which is fine but when we arrived, the room smelled of dusky damp only to find out there's black mould on the wall and the aircon was full of it.
The room was dirty and outdated. Complained to reception they moved us to better room, which I'm thankful of. Staff were friendly but sorry to say definitely not a 4 star hotel. No bar ,no drinks facility, breakfast was basic, pool needs upgrade, the rooms need upgrade. Apart from being very close to beach that's only good thing about this place.
