The hotel was clean and the staff friendly, but for an all inclusive resort it is lacking somewhat.

The food was okay if you like a buffet style for all meals. However, if you are vegetarian you are out of luck..... there is very little option as even pasta dishes contain meat.

We found it rather cheeky to be classed as a “all inclusive” resort yet expect guests to pay for drinks at the hotel beach bar - especially when the evening entertainment at the weekend is moved to the beach.

Additionally I agree with other comments regarding the smell. There is a distinct stench around the shop area that makes you gag....drains or a septic tank, who knows?

Overall the stay was enjoyable. When you book all inclusive you have to expect it is not all you desire.

Personally - I will not be booking all inclusive again. But this is a personal preference.

That said, as I previously stated, the staff were lovely and the hotel very clean.

I'll begin with the good things - the sea and the island itself. But these are not th merrits of the hotel.
The hotel is old, needs repairing badly.
We were disappointed from the very beginning when we were told, that we are not allowed to have breakfast (we arrived at 9 a.m.) as our check-in time begins with 2 p.m.
Come on, people, it's just BREAKFAST and we are AI guests!!! And it wouldn't shock me so much , but at the departure day we checked out at 6 a.m.!!!! and for breakfast we were allowed to have just literally bread and butter!!!!!! I hope the hotel increased the profitability of the hotel))))
The lift to the beach is constantly out of order.
Food is ordinary
Place is clean enough.
Beach bar is not included into th AI system. Sunbeds - 6 Euro
We spend nice vocations, but only because of the sea, nature, tours, and of course good company.

Positives - We stayed all inclusive at Royal Zante. With this we had endless delicious Greek food and drinks. It is clean and the staff are hard workers all the time. The place we stayed was part of 3 hotels in the same area with one of them the Palazzo - very exclusive compared to the others, however the one we stayed in worked better for having kids as it's located close to the larger pools and water slide which operates for about 2 hrs twice a day. It's not a water park though. The hotel is a short walk down steps or a cable car down to the beautifully clear sea with stunning beach and beach bar which is not part of the all inclusive although for 8 Euros you get 2 drinks and 2 sunbeds which is a good deal.

Now for the negatives - The room we stayed in was near one of the pools which also had a bar and unfortunately we had noise from people sitting there past 11pm even though the bar closed this time. The barman apologised and said he's speak to the noise makers however this happened almost every night. We paid for 2 rooms however it was actually one large room with a door separating the entrance area to the room. I felt cheated as I had paid extra for this.

There is also a pungent smell of sewerage from near the shop and entrance to the other hotel. This really needs to be sorted it's awful.

The entertainment leaves much to be desired, the animation team are hard working and friendly especially doing sports and dancing activities full marks for this however night time entertainment other than the one Greek night was awful. We witnessed some things which were NOT appropriate for children of any age. They asked contestants to make like pole dancers on one occasion and on one of the nights the competition was to try and blow up a balloon wedged between man's groin and woman's buttocks with the woman bending over and the man in a sexually suggestive position. This was unbelievable and we saw a few contestants get off stage in disgust and others filming hopefully to report this.

Room tip: Stay away from the pool areas they are noisy at night.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your visit to Zante Royal Resort. I am very surprised reading your comments as some of them are not correct. Wi-fi is free in every lobby of our 3 hotels, while in the rooms it is at extra charge. Regarding our location, Vasilikos is a peaceful, green area with many beautiful beaches close by. There are Porto Roma, Gerakas (turtle nesting beach), St. Nicholas, Banana beach...I wish you had explored more. There are many restaurants in the area, 10-15min walk from our resort and also some mini-markets. In case you do not wish to walk we are happy to call a taxi for our guest in the reception or also, you can visit them by bus. The beautiful Zante town is 14km away and it is a possibility to get there by a taxi or by bus. Our hotel offers a peaceful relax where you can unwind and have relaxing holidays. We have a big team of animation, which are organizing different activities for our guests, and for adults and for children and are always here for our guests to make them have more fun during their stay in our resort. We thank you once again for all your valuable input. We can only hope that you will consider returning to our resort or another hotel of Ionian Hotels in the future, so that we may have another chance at showing you the service and hospitality for which we are proud of.

Kind Regards

Just trying to get though another dinning experience, just asked waitress to put air conditioning on as we are dripping wet from the heat in the dining room, we were told only 1 a/c unit works out of 7 work and that’s near the food, not the experience we paid for. Avoid at all costs
