As a family of 5 we had a great time there. We rented 2 cottage rooms. Clean, well prepared, expremely welcoming crew. Everything well organised, a very dynamic and Professional animation team. Evenings are also very Professional shows, not the typical doubtful dance clubs. Food was fresh and diverse, kids always found good stuff and we enjoyed local food or continental options.
Absolutely Worth it. No négatives.

This is our fourth to Kenya but our first to the Leopard beach resort. Its a lovely place to stay and despite what other reviewers say we found there to be plenty of staff and all of them friendly. We had major issues with delayed flights and then lost luggage [not the hotels fault]and the staff did all they could to help find our luggage and kept calling the airport for us. The food was excellent, the beaches kept clean and bedrooms cleaned every day with nice touches like petals on the bed. I would say that this resort is near the top of the four resorts that we have stayed in. I would have put it top but for an issue of luke warm water that never real got resolved but after 30deg heat during the day it wasnt too much of a problem and as we were leaving the resort was getting ready for off season maintenance.

Room tip: Groundfloor rooms are quieter [why do people above have to wear clogs and drag furniture around] and the chalets/lodges even quieter

Let me start with that all staff is very kind, polite and attentive!! Also housekeeping is doing a great job.It seemed that the resort was runnig down a bit when we arrived, in the Easter weekend it seemed everybody woke up. Maybe because of the increase of the guests or because of the presence of the owner? Beach beds and table in the restaurant were reserved for these VIP’s, were served at the beach etc, if I was the owner I would be more low profile, why showing?!
A bit odd is if you have booked a seafacing room it does not mean it has sea view, in our case it was still garden view but we paid more for the seafacing room to our touroperator. The resort is 4 stars rated but to Kenyan standards. Behind the resort is a supermarket( about 15/20min walk to the right), and to the left also about 15/20 min walk for some ATM’s. At night you cannot go on the streets or beach (for your own safety, according to the hotel, not sure how dangerous it is or it is just a way that you spend all your money in the hotel) which means you’re stuck at the resort. Mineral water (1L) cost 350 KS, which is a lot, in the supermarket 50KS. There are no other eateries close by other than at the resort. For lunch we have been at the Diani Reef, but others can be found about 2 km further which is a long walk in the hot sun. We booked HP, but we also like to go out for dinner/lunch, just for the change and to eat real Kenyan, but not possible on walking distance. The food is good, a lot of choice, sometimes less variation and ofcourse Kenyan taste but made for tourists, I don’t know if Kenyan food is spicey or not.Kenya is a very poor country, you can experience this if you go out for a tour, very sad!! Have not seen a lot houses of stone, seen a lot of garbage and dumps.
If you want to book a tour just do it at the beach of the hotel. We booked the Shimba Hills tour at Mr. Amon from Damman tours. Great tour, have seen a lot of animals and Mr Amon is a great guide and modest and decent guy. A 2 day safari we booked at Tanke tours in the Netherlands, glad we did as wifi is terrible and had a good impression where we would stay.
We travelled from Amsterdam to Nairobi, for the domestic flight you need to pick up the luggage first and go outside to the domestic terminal and check in again, be sure to have an Evisum, even if you have one queues are long and ask around to pass through mentioning to catch a domestic flight. Don’t smoke on your way to the domestic terminal as it is forbidden to smoke, only in designated area. Police is everywhere, I almost got fined. If you arrive at Mombasa aiport, it can be 2 hours to reach Diani Beach because for you reach Diani you need to get the ferry. Due to traffic, or a passing ship or no ferry at the side you’re waiting. Don’t smoke or photograph while waiting at the ferry, you can get fined too!

Suggestion: ATM in or more near the hotel, I believe staff won’t get a lot of tips as guests pay on their room account and not with cash money. It creates also more motivation sometimes for staff. It is also a nice gesture to staff that they doing a great job
Inhouse shop with food items etc and normal prices.
WIFI connection is very poor, also no WIFI in public areas and the beach. People like to read newspapers, explore Kenya on the internet when relaxing and check in for the return flight for example.

I visited the resort over easter with my family. The resort is very beautiful and serene despite being fully booked over this period. We were welcomed with a refreshing cold passion juice and a very big smile . The seperate kids check in was awesome. We checked in to our room after walking through well kept and green gardens where even monkeys found comfort to play on. The easter programme was very engaging and interesting. Dinner was served on the beach, literary feet in sand, whis was so amazing. The band and entertainment from animation team was just awesome. The staff are very friendly and willing to help anytime. Food was very nice throughout the stay and we enjoyed every bit of it. My kids enjoyed staying and playing in the crystal clear pool and the kids club as well. Which gave us time to explore the white sandy beach and cocktails from the famous marcos bar.
Generally our easter holiday was the best and i wouldnt hesitate to recommend anyone looking for a family holiday destination!! Viva leopard beach resort. I will definately be back!!
