A car is essential for this house, but as it surrounds an enclosed courtyard, parking is not a problem. Don't expect modern slick German design, this is a traditional Portuguese home with many of the original contents which make it an interesting and exciting place to stay. We were a family of four, but the house is large enough for eight with two bathrooms and a large kitchen.
Antonio is an excellent host who will give you suggestions about where to go depending on what you are interested in. Make sure you follow at least a few of them if you want to find the hidden treasures of the Douro valley and Porto.
The village is full of really friendly people, we speak little Portuguese but that didn't stop the neighbours helping us at the baker's and then taking us back to their house to load us up with their own produce.
If you expect a traditional country farmhouse, you will have a marvelous holiday. .
