This place really is an amazing holiday destination. The lodge is beautifully made with everything you need and everything up to the highest standard. Situated in a secluded location overlooking a breathtaking view it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Steve and Suzanne were fantastic hosts and the daily breakfasts were delicious. Would never get tired of waking up to that view!

Luxury, privacy and solar powered - this is a divine B&B experience. Steve and Suzanne have created a delightful room with a view in the Hokianga. They are wonderful and welcoming hosts and breakfasts are delicious, brought to the lodge after you've helped yourself to fruit, yoghurt, muesli and tea or coffee. It would be hard to think of a better base for exploring the Hokianga or just relaxing in style. We felt instantly at home and would love to go back.

This review is a little late as we stayed in this wonderful property at the beginning of November. Steve and Suzanne are totally committed to their guests and their approach to luxury sustainability. The lodge is secluded, quiet and has wonderful views, and there has been no compromise on the quality of the materials used in the build or the furnishings. We spent a very comfortable and happy couple of nights here and could easily have stayed longer. Because of our full days we ate both nights in the lodge, choosing 2 courses from the beautiful seasonal menus compiled by our lovely hosts and overlooking the wonderful sunsets. And the stars! The stars at night were out of this world! Thank you Steve and Suzanne for showing us that sustainability does not have to mean compromise. We wish you both all the very best for the future.

The space is beautiful. The views overwhelming. Relaxing and peaceful overlooking Hokianga Harbour and getting a view of ocean, sand dunes, mountains, green forest and paddocks. Very comfortable and a wonderful king size bed. A great breakfast to start each day prepared by the hosts Steve & Suzanne who had plenty of information about local attractions and things to do. Had terrific day at Rawene and crossing by ferry to Kohukohu where we saw Orcas at play. Would love to go and stay again!

Every year we get away for our wedding anniversary, this year was my wife's turn to organise the trip. We normally make it a surprise so after driving through the Kauri forest heading north we came across this perfect little get away retreat. Where we were greeted with similes and a bottle of chilled bubbles to enjoy in a sun soak room with everything we needed. Our hosts were awesome with nothing being too much trouble, from dinner (including after dinner port) and breakfast at times of our choosing delivered always with big smiles, to being a taxi service to one of the local restaurants and back. Our hosts were very helpful with great advice of what to do in the area and organised a yoga session and massages which were great in the sun soaked room. The view was fantastic as we had an awesome sunset the first night.
