“Nice place”

Rented this place from 26th July 2013 for 14 nights. There was myself, my partner, my 15 yr old son and his friend.
We were picked up from Murcia San Javier Airport by a key holder, who was waiting for us when we arrived. It was a very short trip from the airport which was good (10-15 mins). We arrived at the villa and were given two sets of keys, a few instructions on locking doors etc and told how to contact the management company should any problems arise.
We only contacted them to let them know that the Sky TV reception had been lost in our first week, and although we didn't get Sky TV again during our stay it didn't really bother any of us. There was a pretty decent WiFi at the villa, although my son said he lost the signal on his ipad if he ventured into the back room upstairs. He discovered this on our second night there which resulted in bedrooms being exchanged the next day (this was obviously almost the end of the world for my son!!)
The villa itself has a well equipped kitchen with every utensil you could wish for. There's plenty of crockery too, both for indoor and outdoor use. If you do eat or BBQ outdoors invest in a couple of citronella candles to keep the flies at bay, they worked a treat for us.There is also a coffee maker which isn't mentioned in the advert for the villa (cheap filter coffee at the Mercadona supermarket).
The photo's of the villa don't actually do it justice as there is a new sofa, chair and bedding which are nicer than the ones pictured.
The outside area is quite big, there's lots of room for all the loungers and chairs etc. The pool area is huge, plenty of room to sprawl out and sunbathe on a lounger. The pool itself was great, it's big, clean and the deep end is around 6ft. It never got too busy with the residents or other guests, I think the most people we encountered at any one time besides ourselves was 8 (there are 8 villas which share the pool).
The villa itself is a way out from Los Alcazares itself but we knew this when we booked. It took us around 30mins to walk into the main area or there is a local bus (a bit hit and miss) and for 50c per person it will take you into Los Alcazares or all the way up to Los Narejos and drop you off by the Mercadona Supermarket and other shops and restaurants. If you don't like walking or taking the bus there is a local taxi service, but you have to ring for one as the taxi stand is based at Los Narejos. My Spanglish came in very handy a couple of times.
There is also a couple of local bars in the Lomas Del Rame village where the villa is. Both are quite reasonably priced, and the one as you enter the village (Kiosko TorreDel Rame) serves food which is well priced, and does generous measures of spirits if you like a drink or two.
All in all we enjoyed our stay here and loved the fact it was out of the way. A few words of Spanish come in handy in this area as English is not widely spoken.
I only have one complaint and it was the local dogs, they sleep all day and play all night at barking to each other!! Having said that, the dog noise was preferable to intoxicated people staggering down hotel/apartment hallways and shouting 'night' to each other.

How easy was it to book the property? How easy was key pickup/access to the property?
Overall condition of the property Bedding & mattresses
Kitchen & utensils Bathroom cleanliness
Other facilities & amenities Service
Liked best: The fact that the villa was 'out of the way' and not in the hustle and bustle of the town
Liked least: barking dogs!!
