The hotel is older reminding me of something from the 50's. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. The lunch and dinner menu were fairly good but the breakfast buffet was terrible. The rooms were adequate and at least felt like they had been cleaned. They do not take credit card which is surprising since they are suppose the best hotel in the region. We had WiFi in our rooms and the speed was OK. Older hotel, somewhat maintained , but better than staying in Samye.

Stayed here due to convenient proximity to Yumbulakhang. UGH. The bed was relatively comfortable and that is what gave it 2*. The lobby was filled with people smoking. Dinner in the restaurant was fair at best. Nobody in the entire hotel speaks english (not that they have to). The breakfast buffet was horrid. There is Tang instead of orange juice. The food was unappealing and stale. The waitress rinsed her rag with water from the fountain in the center to wipe off the tables. When we went to check out...the said they did not take credit cards. Thank god our guide was willing to lend us some money.

Tsedang hotel, also known as Tseteng hotel. Its one of the best in Tseteng area run by local people from Tseteng. It has good staff and service with clean rooms. Its much better to stay a night here instead of guest house in Samye...

We ended up here because of itinerary changes due to the Nepalese earthquake. It is a grand building with good sized rooms, comfortable bed and nice sheets. The staff were efficient and there was plenty of cleaning going on. WiFi is only in the lobby which is a bit of a nuisance and there were a couple of maintenance issues in the room, but nothing serious.

Hello,

We stayed here as part of our 8 day tour in November of 2014. We stayed only two nights but loved the place. Rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was delicious! It was my first time eating tsampa and it tastes like cookie dough to me. No wonder Tibetans love that stuff. The hotel itself is quite large and the staff was friendly and helpful. It helps if you can speak Mandarin though because not much English is spoken by staff. But the front desk will always have someone who can speak English with you.

Pros
- Close road in which many restaurants are located
- Very good breakfast (not western style but good for Chinese/Tibetan vegetable dishes)
- Friendly staff

Cons
- People can smoke everywhere although I think its not allowed they do it anyways in places like the restaurant

All in all a great stay and if I get a chance to visit Tibet again in this region this is where we will stay.
