“Excellent property in a scenic part of South Uist”
Reviewed 15 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Excellent property in the North of South Uist overlooking Loch Bee to the North and to the slopes of Hecla to the South. Very friendly welcome from Margaret when we arrived and later from Allan.
We enjoyed cycling and walking on South Uist and also visiting the Islands of Eriskay, Benbecula, North Uist and Berneray all by car from the cottage.
Do be prepared for bad weather, even in the summer on South Uist, we had one day where the wind and rain were such that it more or less impossible to do anything outside.

“Beautiful, spacious and well equipped proberty”

We have been to a holiday rental in Scotland every year for 14 years and Ailean and Margaret (his mum!) are the most hospitable hosts we have had, making sure everything was as it should be, from the fairy cakes and eggs on day 1, as well as local event information and site seeing tips, to checking every few days in case anything was amiss.
The house is massive, with all the rooms bright, well decorated and comfortably furnished. Plenty of windows ensured that the great views could be enjoyed and the natural light from clear skies flood in. Always wildlife to see from the house whether it be the wild ponies, geese or lambs with the beach and hills just a short cycle or walk away.
The house is ideally situated in the mid point of the Western Isles allowing exploration of Barra and Eriskay in the south all the way through to Lewis and Harris in the north as easy day trips with the help of Calmac.
Our highlights were sea kayaking at Lochmaddymwith a nosy harbour seal just 25m away following us round, the gannets diving like rockets in the Sound of Harris and the North Uist Highland Games especially the everyone join in spirit.
Thanks again and slainthe mhath.

“Wow!”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We are seasoned self caterers of over 30 years and can honestly say that this is the best property we have ever stayed in. It was spacious, really well furnished and spotlessly clean. Allan, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Add to that views of scenery and wildlife to die for and you have the perfect holiday cottage for us.

“SPLENDID HOUSE AND LOCATION”
Reviewed 17 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The house was excellent, more than one could ever hope for and indeed expect in a rental property. Spacious , spotless , comfortable , and with every amenity ( all in working order ! )
The house is genuinely fully equipped. The welcome and hospitality extended to us by both the owner and his family was an added bonus. The location was perfect for travelling around the Islands . There was plenty of literature and information provided about the Islands that proved invaluable. We will certainly be returning as soon as possible .

“Amazing House”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We were in the party of four and heartily endorse everything Draycot wrote about Deer Pasture. We have stayed in self catering accommodation all over the UK and abroad and can honestly say that this house is the nicest we have ever rented. Deer Pasture is modern, spacious, warm, beautifully appointed and has everything you could possibly need. It is well situated on the shores of Loch Bi, convenient for a supermarket and yet so close to all the wildlife South Uist has to offer. It is also a very good base to tour the Hebrides from North Uist down to Barra. Deer Pasture exceeded all my expectations, a beautiful house in an idyllic location,
