“Exceptionally clean and welcoming”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

From the moment we arrived we welcomed warmly by Paula & Nick the owners. The cottage was beautifully presented. We have never stayed in such a clean place. The attention to detail in all that was provided was exceptional. The cottage itself is ideally situated for visiting areas of outstanding natural beauty and there were leaflets giving information on places to visit and suggestions for where to eat - a voucher was thoughtfully provided for a small discount at a local pub/restaurant which we visited. Clearly a great deal of thought and effort had gone into preparing the cottage to welcome visitors. We were really impressed and would love to return in the future to experience again the peace and comfort that Close House Cottage provided thanks to Paula and Nick. Thank you both!

“Excellent base to see Yorkshire countryside”
Reviewed 16 July 2015 for a stay in July 2014

This booking was all about the Tour De France and its start in Yorkshire. Being a fan I had to be there. Attached to a farm house this cottage is easy to find just put the postcode in your Sat nav and you are able to drive straight there, always a bonus in my eyes. Despite being next to a working farm the setting was very peaceful. The cottage itself is furbished to a high standard with all the mod cons you'd require from a self catering residence; dishwasher, more than terrestrial tv, wifi. The bathroom was spacious and furnished with both a shower and a bath all cleaned to a high standard. We took our two cats as pets were welcome. Outside is a small gravelled area with patio table and chairs which was my little smoking spot. It was this that bought me my only disappointment as the owners had dogs which would come and bark at me while I was having a peaceful smoke, I'm not a fan of dogs as they hassle me while I work. To balance it out, and to be fair, it wasn't every time I was having a ciggie and they were often called in by the owners once they heard them. We are not really pub people, I don't drink and my wife only drinks wine and not much so we could easily pack her requirements, but I think the nearest pub was at least a drive away. All told we had a very enjoyable week, after seeing Le Tour, we visited my wife's friends and family that lived in North Yorkshire. If I ever needed to visit Yorkshire again this cottage would be the first place I would look to book.

“SUPERB ACCOMMODATION IN QUIET LOCATION”
Reviewed 31 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

A superb one bedroom cottage, attached to the owner's home.
Spacious bedroom, bathroom and lounge plus well-equipped kitchen. The cottage is in a rural area, but convenient for the lovely village of Easingwold and a number of local pubs/restaurants. The owners were very helpful and friendly - and were dog lovers.
Highly recommended
