Once you actually find it, it is very impressive, some great views, was overcast when we went but must be amazing on a clear day, steps are hard work getting back up, views from the cafe would be great, cafe is closed on a Wednesday

This place is spectacular in the summer. The water is clear, the flowers are in bloom and its really worth the 300 or so steps back up. I would highly recommend it to couples and people who like nature. It's very pretty!

The walk down isn't for the faint hearted but hang in there it is worth it. Fantastic grassy platform above sea level but almost at bottom of cliffs. A great place to listen to the roar of the sea and watch the birds. Three Peregrine Falcons spotted today. A hidden gem.

Did this walk down and up the steps some 15 years ago and was not sure I would manage it this time. I did. Going on 70 years I was so pleased with myself. When I read about 70 year old fisher-women who would go up and down these steps and on the way up would carry creels of herring, I thought I need to do this. Not the easiest place to find but it is a fantastic adventure. At the bottom to stand and look at the cliffs and imagine the boats coming in with their catch of herring and other fish. Then the long walk back up the steps to the top. Now there is a lovely little cafe at the top for a well earned drink.

Not easy to find, but definitely worth a visit. Spectacular view, steps aren't too strenous either. Just do it. And on your way back; stop at the Whaligoe Steps Cafe. You won't be disappointed.
