“Well worth the effort once you manage to find the place!”

What an amazing testimony to the fortitude of the fisher folk of yesteryear. Only by visiting this incredible place can you get an impression of how hardy the people must have been to be able to ascend the 365 steps laden with baskets of fish. It was tricky enough climbing them without any burden! Beautiful little harbour area to see once the descent has been made of the steps with a bonus of seabirds wheeling above the imposing cliffs that tower overhead. The only issue I had was finding the place! What a nightmare trying to locate the entrance to the attraction. This really needs to be sorted out and is the sole reason for not rating this attraction as 'excellent'.

365 steep steps where the herring used to be brought up from the harbour below. Steps uneven, and slippery in places, so care needed, and not for the unfit or faint hearted! I only managed about 70 before turning back (no head for heights). Amazing to see what the workers had to do in the past. Cafe closed for October, which was a shame

There are about 300 steps down to the sea. Worth it though, and you won't feel guilty if you had a large breakfast!
Look out for Davey when you climb back up, he will give you all the history to the place. Be careful if it is a wet day as the steps will be slippery.

This is slightly tricky to find but there is a free car park just off the main road. A slightly eccentric local is more than happy to explain about this steep path of over three hundred steps that takes you from the cliff top down to a tiny harbour below. We were fortunate to visit on a dry sunny morning and found the steps easier then expected, they could be a lot trickier in the wet but there are resting points. The views as you go up and down certainly make it worthwhile and whilst certainly not for the infirm, you do get back to top with a sense of achievement.

Kept the kids occupied counting ALL of the steps down to the water. Lovely spot - be sure to explore as if you climb down a bit, towards the sea, there's a good waterfall.
