“Fabulous place”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed here for 1 week to visit Alton towers with our theme park enthusiastic teenager, from start to finish we felt at home, was very welcomed by Isabel, Brian and beautiful bramble their lovely well behaved dog. The barn is full of everything you would need and more, it was a luxury stay in a beautiful home that has views to enjoy waking up to in the morning. We was welcomed with wine, biscuits and milk which were naughty but nice and we were sad to leave. We enjoy a week in England as an additional holiday with our son and would recommend this lovely barn to anyone who wants to chill in luxury. Thanks to Isabel and Brian for trusting us with their lovely home and I hope everyone appreciates your efforts and kindness as we did. Sarah and James short

Isabel & Brian make you feel so welcome in their luxurious cottage. It's in a beautiful location & the views are stunning too. Everything in the cottage is of a high standard & beautifully done. There is nothing I can fault & I highly recommend staying here. Great base for Alton Towers, Peak District & Stoke too. Looking forward to returning again with my family.

“Wonderful stay at Ballfields Barn”

We travelled with our 9 and 12 year old sons and stayed in this luxury barn for 4 nights. It was the perfect place to experience the countryside - there were sheep and cows outside our windows. The kids loved it! Our hosts were extremely thoughtful and had wine, cereal, and milk for the kids in the fridge waiting for us after our long flight from Canada and 3 hr drive from Heathrow. They even made reservations for us and escorted us to the Italian place 15 minutes away. Isabel even made sure to have hypoallergenic bedding for our son.
The barn is very luxurious with clawfoot tub in the master, heated floors and towel racks. Laundry appliances were Miele and all soap and even shampoo provided. The master remained as two twins which was fine with us. Just make sure you know how to turn down the towel racks otherwise it does get hot in the loft.
I would only ask that we had a hand towel in each washroom. But otherwise it was perfect - would definitely recommend to others (and have already!)

“Beautiful barn in beautiful location with fantastic views!”

This is a beautiful converted barn, well presented with everything you need to make it a home from home! I have stayed here a number of times now and feel really at home. The owners are lovely and can't do enough for you, always on hand if you need them without being intrusive! There is some beautiful countryside in the surrounding area and Leek has some lovely restaurants which I have also left feedback on. Well worth a trip!

“Perfect holiday cottage - a real home from home”

We loved our stay at Ballfields Barn. We have stayed at many cottages over the years but this is the best. We have never stayed anywhere so well-equipped - even a slow cooker! This helped to make it a real home from home with everything you would need. The barn is also beautifully furnished and so cosy and warm. We loved coming back from our days out to sit and read/chat in the cosy surroundings , The barn is also in a really lovely spot and we especially enjoyed the views looking out to the hills with Leek sparkling in the distance at night. Our dog was very happy too and the huge field in front of the barn was perfect for messing about with him in! There is lots to do in the area. We enjoyed our visits to Dovedale, Mam Tor and Little Moreton Hall. There is lots more to do in the area though, so we very much hope to return!
