We have driven this road so many times and never thought to stop but on this occasion I'm so pleased we did!
We arrived late (2pm'ish) and the place was bustling. We had pizza and drinks whilst the kids played on the playground. They have the cutest little bottles they serve the kids drinks in.
Such a great atmosphere, good food, little gift shop, peaceful surroundings.
I've been telling everyone about it!

The pasta was delicious, sadly the pizza was a little over cooked around the edges but we had great service and great location! Nice to eat there for lunch when cycling!

We booked an early dinner for two on a Friday following a day’s hike in Karangahake Gorge. We chose to sit inside and we practically had the place to ourselves with two other families joining later in the evening. The service from arrival to the end of dinner was friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. We ordered the seafood pizza with sambal and the vegetarian main (oyster mushroom tonkatsu). Both dishes were full of fresh, clean flavours which isn’t always a given when you eat out. The mushroom tonkatsu was so crisp and tender and the fish on the pizza was juicy! Portion wise we found it filling but I tend to be able to eat less than most so others may find they might need to order a side or starter to carb up a bit.

Tasting shared platter 42 dollars. Very small. Only enough for one person. Tasty. We had to order more bread and dip. Nice venue but food over priced.

We stayed here while on the Hauraki Rail Trail, so arriving was like an Oasis nestled amongst the Trees. Our Host was so welcoming and helpful, the Cottage was just dreamy, pot belly Fire, decorated with attention to every detail.
We have been to their Excellent Restaurant so was why we came, but as closed we chose the lovely Dinner Hamper, which was just Devine. And Lovely outdoor area to enjoy a glass of Wine, it all made for a perfect choice.
Could not fault it, thank you.
