We stayed here while on the Hauraki Rail Trail, so arriving was like an Oasis nestled amongst the Trees. Our Host was so welcoming and helpful, the Cottage was just dreamy, pot belly Fire, decorated with attention to every detail.
We have been to their Excellent Restaurant so was why we came, but as closed we chose the lovely Dinner Hamper, which was just Devine. And Lovely outdoor area to enjoy a glass of Wine, it all made for a perfect choice.
Could not fault it, thank you.

Stunningly beautiful, relaxful setting. Awesome food, awesome staff, awesome service. In fact the whole experience here is just awesome.
From the moment you begin the drive up from the entrance you know you are in for something special.
The genuine woodfired pizza's are to die for. If you want to dine with nature - this is the place.
This place AND the staff are an absolute credit to the owners.
Highly recommend.

Long time fans of Falls Retreat it had been a while since our last visit but happy to say our lunch was wonderful. Reminds us why we like coming here. Interesting flavours beautifully cooked and presented. Prices compare well to other restaurants in the area.

Spent a wonderful few hours here with my wife. We did the gather experience. This started with morning tea, or barista coffee and treats. After that we were taken on a tour of the edible garden tasting plants as we went. After that it was a beautiful 3 course gourmet lunch. Food was excellent, service relaxed but very attentive. We will be back.

Our most recent Sunday Lunch was at The Bistro at The Falls Retreat in the Karangahake Gorge. We have been taking groups on Sunday Lunches for approximately 10 years & this was one of the best lunches we have had. The most ordered Main was "Pure crispy free-range pork belly with kimchi rainbow chard & ricotta arancini, chipotle kewpie mayo, carrot, mandarin & pineapple emulsion, green apple herb salad with black fennel fronds & white balsamic, candied cashew & sorrel vinaigrette." It was hard to choose between the 2 desserts offered: "Belgian Chocolate molten Cake &triple chocolate Brownie, served with Greek Yoghurt, whjpped plum cream& a white chocolate pistachio & cherry biscotti, with berry compote or Creme Caramel served with orange salt & vanilla bean ice cream, hazelnut kaffir-lime crumble, Ruby Red mandarin & poached rhubarb." A delight to the tastebuds of Masterchef quality. and we had excellent service from our waitress.
