wonderful food, could not fault anything. bread starter fabulous, pork belly mains beautiful. bit cold when we arrived but the staff soon added a gas heater to the open fire. could probably have been put on earlier but all good. friendly place to eat.

What could be better than a delicious lunch..wood fired pizza, tasty salad and fries with a beautiful glass of wine on a dreary afternoon after a scenic cycle in the gorge
Made better by the smiling, attentive staff, cuddly blankets and an awesome setting
Sure will be back but plan to stay next time

A belated mothers day lunch at one of my local favourite restaurants. Always consistently high standards in terms of food, menu selection, service and atmosphere.

Guests always feel so welcome and stepping out for your first dining experience in Alert Level 2 was no exception.

Beautiful meal on a cold rainy night.
The Falls Retreat consistently delivers beautifully cooked food in a quaint and unique setting.
The food here is the equal of top end restaurants in Auckland.
Our only complaint is that once mains are finished, waiter service tends to finish as well , not ideal if you want dessert!!
Having said that , this place is brilliant.

AMAZING says it all. Back open for takeaways and they haven’t missed a beat. The food is amazing as always and the new veg pizza has to be eaten to be believed! Gotta get 2 next time!
