I wasn't expecting such a service and delicious food in a countryside restaurant.
My last Sunday's experience at 'Il Paiolo' was amazing, the menu was diverse and inviting.
I started with what I am passionate about: a truffle-based appetizer of scallops with sea urchin sauce, topped with white truffles, a great match between the fish and land delicacies.
As a first course I had fresh pasta (fettuccine) with porcini mushrooms, and as second the host, Alvaro, noticing how much I liked truffles, prepared a surprise: a juicy meat steak fully covered with truffles again! Unbelievable.
Last but not least I had to try the restaurant's Panettone (typical Milan's Christmas sweet delicacy). I am not a fan of dessert, but this panettone was the best I have ever had. I tried some others and I always found them pretty heavy and dull: this one was incredibly smooth, soft and delicious.
Overall a great experience at Il Paiolo, a must try if you find yourself in the area!
