We stayed here in 2013 and had a fabulous time. We were a party of nine and used both the farmhouse and its annexe. This is a working farm with sheep and cows. Eating breakfast with cows watching is not something that happens at home. If you want a quiet retreat from the world you can certainly have it here, there is no wifi so you really can escape! There are 167 Acres to walk around with your children and dogs, in springtime the flowers are beautiful, then come home for a barbecue and watch the sun go down. It’s wonderfully quiet and the night sky has to be seen to be believed - fantastic. However if you want to explore the area you won’t be short of places to visit. Redgate Beach is well worth a visit as is Prevelly. Wineries we tried, Stella Bella, Leeuwin, Voyager and Watershed are all worth a visit. Children love the Margaret River chocolate factory and Mammoth and Jewel caves are not far away. We’ve been back several times since. All in all a fabulous place to stay.
Our family of 4 adults and a dog stayed in the Maya Homestead a few months ago (one of four options on the Redgate Forest property) . If you want something a little different —quiet, beautiful farm surroundings yet close to everything, this is the spot. 10 minutes to Margaret River and close to all the fabulous wineries as well as 5 minutes to Redgate beach (absolutely gorgeous) yet feels miles away from anywhere. Watch the sheep and cows while enjoying your fabulous accommodation. Maya is the original home on the property and comfortably sleeps two families plus it is pet friendly! Sheila, the owner, has thought of everything and the place was extremely well equipped. We enjoyed it so much we returned again this year. We'll visit again!
