Room was clean, of a good size with a modern bathroom, satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries and slippers. Bed was firm, but acceptable.

Location was good- near shops and restaurants, about 1 km to the pedestrian food street and 10 minutes walk to the pagoda and big Buddha temple.

A con for some will be the lack of cupboards and storage space- only a row of hooks with hangers. Other cons were there variable wifi and satellite TV connection.

The vents also circulate the air from the other rooms; while we were in a non-smoking room, we had one night where our room stunk of cigarette smoke so bad I found it difficult to sleep. The second night was ok.

The room was good value though. Breakfast is not available, but the staff pointed us to a little place across the road really popular with locals. It serves noodles and steamed buns filled either with meat or vegetables. We had 8 vegetable buns between us (they come in serves of 4), served with a complimentary bowl of gelatinous soup. The buns were delicious, the soup not so much, but all for only 6 yuan!

So overall recommended if you want cheap and cheerful and want to take your chances with the smoke situation.
