We drove by and accidentally saw the hotel near the road, decided to drive up the unpaved path to check it out and see if we could eat at the restaurant. We were amazed by the magnificent view and atmosphere. This is simply an amazing place to be, to breathe in and enjoy all it has to offer.
Strange enough, we were advised to sit inside because the waiter presumably expected rain. That felt like an excuse for the staff not wanting to walk the extra steps to the outside terrace. It was a clear day with blue skies, 30 degrees and perfect weather forecasts. Throughout the whole evening we saw nothing that remotely looked like a drop of rain or a cloudy sky.
The staff made a somewhat chaotic impression, partially because there were so many of them and most seemed mere assistants. But the guy leading the pack was very attentive and knowledgeable. After a slightly confusing start, he managed to turn things around and ensured a great dining experience.
Because my wife is not a big eater, we decided to have starter and main (secondi) only, but later regretted that choice. We should not have skipped first course, as we saw great dishes on the menu, and should have done the typical Italian sequence of starter/first/second.
