We were sharing with friends a 3 room apartment, this is clean and renovated, close to the beach and each room has his own bathroom. This is a bit far away from the breakfast place (in the lobby of the hotel) and from the port market but close to the small little beach at the end of the Port.
The staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly, nice breakfast.
The catering for an evening party on the beach was great! The one for the party on the restaurant/bar place was very nice quality food but the service was not well coordinated. Anyway we spent great time.

My wife's sister lives in Marseille and her husband, a professional sailor, docks his boat on the island of Embiez. They recommended that we stay there for a long weekend.
We booked a two bedroom unit with a kitchenette.
The island resort was created by Paul Ricard who is the famous founder of the French anis drink called Ricard!
Parking the car to take the ferry to the island is a major problem. One needs to plan this ahead with the hotel.
The ferry leaves nearly on the hour back and from the island. The island is car free. You need to either walk or rent a bike on the island.
You need to bring your own foldable trolly to go to the hotel. Their electric car is seldom found and the distance from the ferry to the hotel is about 10 minutes.
The general ambience of the island is very pleasant. The people working in every corner of the island are extremely pleasant and helpful. You feel they genuinely want to please you and that you enjoy your stay.
Breakfast in the hotel is very simple with little variety.
The 3 or 4 restaurants on the island have a limited food selection on their menus, but everything is simple and tastes good.
Sailing around the island and adjoining islands is very pleasant. The water is crystal clear and the beaches are extremely clean.
All in all a wonderful family experience.

Room Tip: Chose the rooms overlooking the port on the ground floor. Very convenient if you have children.

This place is a little off the beaten path for Americans but offers all we could hope for for a weekend stay by the Mediterranean.
As the taxi driver told us it's still "un peu sauvage" which in my opinion was a huge plus - lots of little swimming coves to walk to and lovely crystal clear water. Hotel nicely renovated with decent food and yummy drinks.
