From start to finish Sareeraya spoilt us ..

We arrived early ( hours before check in ) and greeted by lovely staff and given cold face towels and refreshing local drink as everyone is , however because we were so early we were offered a room to shower, change and freshen up.

Our room was beautiful 811 .. plunge pool, outdoor shower and everything else.
Our room was cleaned exceptional everyday and our room attendant was wonderful.

Food & cocktails were devine , buffet breakfast & seafood platter was definitely a winner.
The head chef was amazing (Christophe) and he interacted daily to make sure you were happy with all meals.

The General Manager also interacted daily to just check we were happy , Al Lian was wonderful.

Now our Wedding ... it was perfect.
Gine & Parichat organized everything and made it absolutely stress free. The set up was Gorgeous, food , photography, celebrant , makeup , hair ..they just made it all unforgettable.

I cant thank them all enough for making our stay such a treasure and making our dreams come true.

We had been staying here for 5days. They are very kind. Especially they took care of our son, it was very relieved for us to spend in the hotel. I can recommend even for family to spend their time. We will stay next time if we have a chance to visit Samui.

Thank you to all at Sareeraya for making our Fourth visit to your wonderful resort a memorable one.

Al-Lian the GM and New head chef Christophe are two special people who will go out of their way to make sure everything is going good even going so far to get me some Almond Milk cheers for that Al-Lian.

The Lads at the pool bar are always there to help with drinks, food, moving your sun bed anything and all ways with a smile.

Beautiful experience.

We recently returned from a 10 night stay in a private pool villa (Room 801) and don't have a bad word to say. The amenities are perfect for a couple seeking a romantic get away, or even if travelling with a young one.

This was our first family holiday with our 8mth old daughter. The staff were absolutely incredible and treated her like she was their own. Every morning breakfast was ordered for her, with baby set ready. Whenever she was a little unsettled, the staff quickly picked her up and walked the restaurant not only keeping her occupied but also to provide my wife and I with a short break to enjoy either breakfast or dinner.

The restaurant (Chefs Table) is fantastic. Well priced by resort standards with impeccable food and an extensive drink menu. Each morning and night, the Head Chef (French Michelin Star) walks the restaurant engaging with all guests to ensure they are satisfied, and further notes to not hesitate in letting him know if there are any special request etc.

The pool, swim-up bar and day lounge area is great with 24/7 security. Resort location is perfect if your looking to explore Chaweng (close enough to walk, but not in the middle of the main strip).

The front desk will happily arrange day trips, private transfers, golf bookings or anything else you need or want.

We highly recomend a visit.

Enjoy!

We stayed here for 13 nights but let me start with a summary on my rating. I have 5 categories to give each a star or not (Location, Staff, Amenities, Room, Food):

Location: 1 Star
Staff: 1 Star
Amenities: 1 Star
Rooms: 1 Star
Food:0 Stars

Location: The Hotel’s location is at chaweng beach and is within walking distance to the chaweng walking street (~2.5 km), Central Festival shopping mall (~1.5km) and a ton of side-street restaurants. The location was great for is as it’s located on a quiet area of the beach. So if you look for party and music during day and night you should get another hotel closer to the Central Festival Mall. For us however it was perfect how it is.

Staff:
Hotel staff is really friendly and always very helpful. Maybe sometimes the language barrier get’s in the way as their english is very basic, but if you use simple words and try to explain in different ways they’ll eventually understand you just fine. We had the Villa 804 and had some issues with our pool/jacuzzi outdoors. We went to the reception and the lady said she would send someone over. The next day it seemed it was not fixed so we went again to explain t differently. Someone was sent over and it was fixed (the bubbles did not work in the jacuzzi). However after 1 day the pool was almost empty. So the next day we had to go again and tell them. The Technician was sent and the problem fixed. This time the timer for the air pumps that create the bubbles was set to 3 minutes so we had to ask again to get it set back to 10min as it was before. All in all I would say you need to be in your room if they come to fix stuff, which I think should not be necessary on that price level. So I would appreciate if there is a sanity check that after fixing something, nothing else got “corrupted”.

Amenities:
The pool (infinity pool) is large enough to swim some lanes in the morning and was pretty empty before 9:30/10am as people were eating breakfast. The pool is open 7am to 7pm which is fine but on some days We would have wished it would have been open until maybe 8/9pm as the weather was great and would have been lovely to get some swimming done before dinner.
The beach infront of the Hotel was the nicest one in Chaweng for us. Every morning Staff cleaned and smoothened the white sand to make it look very nice. During breakfast we noticed daily people walking by and taking pictures as it is the cleanest piece of beach close by. Unfortunately the ocean infront of the Hotel is full of rocks /mini reefs and you have to walk either to the right ~100m or to the left ~200m to be able to swim.

Rooms:
We had the Villa 804 so I can only comment on this one. When we booked we asked for a quiet villa and I think this was one of the 2 on the more quiet side away from the restaurant and pool. The villa was spacious, clean and has a nice outdoor mini pool/ Jacuzzi that is great for evening cool downs. The bed was okay, not the best but we’ve had worse many timed. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower as somehow the water was warmer and it had higher water pressure (not sure why, shouldn’t this be on the same pipe system?)
We had enough space for our luggage and the bathroom was really nice and large for a hotel. We really enjoyed the villa.

Breakfast:
Now to the bad. We travel alot, also in Thailand and we’ve been to many 5star resorts but we really have to admit the breakfast at Sareeraya was the worst we had! Sure the food quality was good, no question there but the Selection was awfully small and they constantly run out of food and you had to wait for someone to fill it up. I mean we paid 300 chf /$ per night and for that price this id dimply not acceptable.
We compare the breakfast with hotels such as Easting Grand Bangkok, Amari Phuket, Amari Pattaya, Bandara Resort Koh Samui. The later one is also the Hotel we go next for another 11nights.
What I would recommend first is to make sure the food pots are filled properly and not just poorly. I am not a fat guy but I workout and eat well and whenever I went through for a small portion the people after me wouldn’t have had anything left! No matter what time we were there there was too little food in the warming pots. Also some of the dishes were cold as staff forgot to turn on the heaters.
In terms of selection the vegetarian selection is very poor as everything had meat in it, the only warm food was cowliflower (every day). Here I would ask for different veggies on a daily basis. For the curries I would recommend to maybe make a vegetarian one and have meat in a separate pot that people can choose to put meat in or not. On the egg station we were disappointed as there was too much oil used. The omelette etc was drenched in oil even after asking to put less it was still way to much! First day we arrived there were cashew nuts and peanuts, after that no-more cashew. We asked in the kitchen but they had none. On the cereals we actually bought our own oatmeal as they only had cornflakes and other sugary brands. Here We would wish that a simple plain instant oatmeal could be provided so we could mix it with yoghurt ourselves. Coming to the cheese selection, being Swiss the cheese was like plastic. We know its difficult to get good cheese in asia but we were in Bangkok the days before and they had some really good brie. We’d appreciate if at least one cheese could be a brie or camembert (Seems like you have a french chef so he hopefully agrees). Bread selection was okay, would have been great to have a really dark bread and not just white and mixed. The best was the Fruits which we ate daily. The watermelons, dragon fruit etc were really delicious and always filled up. There it seemed to really work.

All in all we would come back to this hotel if the breakfast gets improved. It’s a small thing to change that yields a big impact in our opinion.
