We stayed 2 nights on a Secret Escapes break and had high hopes of this hotel. It is a beautiful old building in an idyllic setting and could with just a little TLC be the perfect venue. The most disappointing aspect was that we could not use the outside swimming pool - it was a sad spectacle with just 6 inches of stagnant water, leaves and litter despite it being a hot weekend at the beginning of June! Sadly, this hotel fell short of expectations but could, with some investment be just perfect. We should also mention the extortionate cost of drinks as already noted by other reviewers.

The local town of Pont-Audemer was delightful in every way and well worth a visit. Honfleur is a short drive away and if you have not been there, you should go!

We stayed one night at this place and had diner. A complete rip-off. No other words. Please check before you book, the comments and review on trip-advisor. Already some persons mentioned the rip-off, and I can confirm. Would my wife have checked the trip-advisor comments before booking, she would have seen the already consistent negative comments written on this hotel. We would never, never have ended there !
I can only confirm that the place and location are nice, if you like the old fashion mansion. But, but that's really it. The rooms are old fashioned, the bathroom is out of date etc...the menu is ridiculous expensive, wines even worse and the local Calvados is stupidly priced. Food that was served was average, not bad, but certainly not exceptional. In conclusion, you spend 135 euro for the room, 40 euro for a basic breakfast (bread, coffee, jam, nothing more without paying !!!!), evening diner ended up at 200 euro for 2 (48 euro for the first level menu (4 pieces), 52 euro for one of the cheapest bottles of wine, and one Calvados that was not even 5 ml at a price of a full bottle in an expensive liquor shop....One night stay for 400 euro in total, in a local old mansion, not for me anymore. I feel I have to warn that in the surroundings you can find far better, for a lesser price and better service.

We've been on travel for 4 weeks now and Belle Isle is like having family welcome you! My husband found it online just a day ahead of our booking, saying that it looked peaceful and had great reviews. We needed a comfortable 'home' for a few days. Tim welcomed us warmly. As soon as we arrived, we knew it was beautiful, just upon pulling into the charming drive and neighborhood of Norman homes. You even cross a small bridge. Peaceful, quaint, full of charm. The setting is a beautiful, natural garden and the manor home is so pretty. It's historic and richly decorated. Tim's extremely professional service yet so personal is brilliant. He made sure we had everything we needed, was so helpful and had the indoor pool and jacuzzi ready for us. What a great welcome and so relaxing. We felt like the only guests. The entire place smells delicious too, from blooming flowers outside and in, plus the gourmet fare. Our room was perfect for us. We loved being able to open the window and hear the birds chirping and the water from the river and garden fountain making their sounds. The nearby town is not a long walk and it's darling! Full of character of yesteryear with a truly authentic feel. Just adorable all the way around. The perfect place for us! Other great features: easy parking, WiFi, kayaks and bikes to use!

We were passing through Pont Audemer at lunchtime and decided to try the Belle Isle. We were the only people on the beautiful enclosed terrace. It was clear that they were not expecting much drop-in weekday traffic but the lunch was very good and the service excellent. It was the first day of a trip to Normandy and the stop at Belle Isle was a great way to begin.
