My wife, myself, and two medium sized dogs have stayed here twice now on our travels driving between Spain and England. The price is competetive, particularly off-peak seasons.

The grounds and the buildings are beautiful, it is a typical French Chateaux / Castle and fabulous to look at. Inside, the décor has an unusual and unique character, slightly Dalí, slightly Alice in Wonderland, but always tasteful and not over the top. It helps one feel as if one is staying somewhere special. The rooms (that we have stayed in) are well proportioned and, again, interesting. Common to both rooms we have stayed in is that the bathroom is actually part of the bedroom, so there are no walls. It has different tiles, and different flooring, but the bedroom, shower and bath are effectively open plan. The toilet is, fortunately, closed off. Oh, and it is utterly peaceful, we heard no noise whatsoever.

Downstairs, there is a comfortable lounge area for a pre-dinner drink, and there is a dining room. The dining room is comfortable although the accoustics of the room mean one ends up feeling the need to talk very quietly so as not to disturb other diners. The food is excellent, in my case I had pâté de foie gras and pigeon on both occasions we have stayed. Note however that these have been different dishes, it seems like the hotel has a formula for the variety of food types on the menu, but then varies the dishes created with those food types. The first time I had pigeon it was on a turnip mash, the second was pigeon three ways. My wifes food was also delicious. I would heartily recommend eating here.

I mentioned the dogs. Common among many French people and locations, dogs are welcome, that includes in the dining room, bar and bedrooms. For those who are not keen on dogs, we have never yet seen another dog at this hotel. Outside, there is lots of open space and woodlands to let the dogs off the lead.

The staff are friendly and helpful, while not being intrusive.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this hotel, we will continue to stay there as we pass through France.

Room Tip: We prefer the rooms at the top of the tower

The castle and the surroundings are really nice. The staff very helpful, friendly and professional. The place is quiet.
Be careful to the type of room you book because they are not all in the castle. We booked on purpose a family room outside the castle but could still enjoy all the facilities and services of the hotel. We found it a pretty good deal, and we thought that the other guests also appreciated not having 3 kids running around inside the castle.
The swimming pool was much appreciated, and we could even book a horse ride on the day of our arrival.
The breakfast was fantastic, and will certainly be the highlight of our stay.

Last minute decision following the cancellation of our trip to Cannes for this bank holiday weekend.
Beautiful surroundings, mixing modern decoration with classical style. Lovely living and dining rooms. Pretty and well equipped rooms. Top of the range bedding!
We enjoyed the swimming pool area - even if I could not get into the water, not heated enough for me.
Enjoyed a classical dinner and a delicious breakfast with very kind and professional staff.
Perfect place to rest and relax, far away from crowds.

really impressed with the food, my wife can be picky, and she chose items outside her comfort zone and ate it all and was impressed. A Chateaux that has been modernised but with stairs no disabled access that we could see. Mainly a wedding venue at weekends, but a great restaurant friendly and attentive staff. Please look at the food pictures they tasted even better.

Room Tip: Standard rooms excellent
