The level is low. Menu says fresh pasta but tastes store bought. I ate the purple potato gnocchi and my friends tried the tagliatelle. Desserts were a definite low. We tried a vast variety and none passed the test. Not really worth the #1 position...

We stopped at Gorgonzola as a lunchtime stop on the way to the Italian lakes. Gorgonzola itself was not that inspiring and as we made our way to the no. 1 TripAdvisor restaurant for the town we were not overly impressed but we stuck with it as we did not have the time to meander.
The restaurant was in a very uninspiring modern row of shops, so we were surprised to be asked if we had a reservation. Sunday lunchtime was a busy time and we were found a table at the back of the restaurant and offered a 3 course menu with wine, water and coffee for 30 €. It was a fabulous seafood menu. The starter was 3 different fish, all of which were superb in presentation and taste, Mains were pasta/rice based, tasty but not amazing, and then we could eat any of the desserts on offer. The waitress spoke good english but couldn't describe the desserts so brought us the dishes from the kitchen to see. Charming service overall.
Our children didn't fancy the menu so chose a la carte and had very tasty
well presented dishes.
Overall we were very impressed and will keep this restaurant as a great pit stop en route to the Italian lakes.

You could pass this restaurant in the city of Gorgonzola if you didn't have the address but locals don't need a GPS to get great food and wonderful prices. The service was professional and attentive and the food superb. The ambiance of the restaurant is charming but not memorable. The food was the part that was memorable and the short wine list had ample local selections of fine wines as well as wines from other regions of Italy. I started with Prosciutto di Parma and Bufala Mozzarella and then ordered their pasta dish of the day which was pappardelle pasta with porcini mushrooms and pancetta. Everything was delicious and if you are in the general area of Gorgonzola, this restaurant is worth the visit.

I've been passing in front of it every day without ever noticing it until TripAdvisor told me there was a restaurant there... And what a good surprise! Nice menu, focusing very much on meat, some from km 0 farmers. There are a couple of fish dishes though, which I tried and are lovely! Plates are quite big and we couln't finish both primo and secondo. The casoncei were outstanding.
It is not cheap but still reasonable for quality products.
Will definitely go back.
