My chalet was large with a small kitchen area. It looked out over the garden area. The heat exchanger did not work well and in late May it is getting cold in New Zealand. The bed did have an electric blanket though. The motel is situated a short distance from the town centre.

Room Tip: All chalets are quiet so it does not really matter.

Thank you for your review, we do apologise for the heat pump not working sufficiently and have had them serviced since so hopefully no more problems. We do appreciate you bringing this to our attention though. We do hope to see you again. Kind Regards The Team from The Rocks Chalets.

We had a fairly large chalet with a kitchen, BBQ and a nice view. It was only a short drive into Takaka where there were a few restaurants, shops, a museum and a supermarket. None of the restaurants appealed to us so we cooked dinner in the chalet both nights that we were there. The internet worked well and we watched the world news and a couple of Netflix movies on our laptop.

Located on the 5min walk on the outskirts of Takaka sets a tone for the perfect slice of paradise in Golden Bay.
The Rocks Chalets are set privatly between the karst rock formations.
Our one was very spacious. Very private.
The bathroom was so big and the shower pressure was so good it was like getting a massage.
Comfy bed and pillows made for a great nights sleep especially after big day out.
Mel the manger did a great job of looking after us and informing us of the new owners and the new kitchenettes with fridge oven hobs and microwave / oven we utilized this as we ate in everynight but one. It had everything we needed and if we needed anything Mel was there in a heart beat.
Great coffee and plunger provided and decent sized miniture bottle of milk to go with it none of those stupid ut milk pottles.
The bath on the patio was the star if the show and a wonderul unique touch which added to the vibe of the place.
We had just had busy week and it was the perfect place to relax as a family of three and our 1 year old loved being able to crawl around in amd outside. There is a cave onsite which has addwd surprise of glow worms and we got to use a few limes off the lime tree which was yummy on our salads all in all we loved staying here and will be back as we have more to see.
The location was perfect for us we took the farewell spit eco tour and went to Wainui falls and other hikes as well!
Come see and feel the magic of this place.

Thanks Mel ,Leanne and Lloyd.

Brief overnight stay on a business trip. Immaculately clean, spacious chalet with comfortable bed and good pillows which are rare, I slept like a log in the peaceful surroundings. Warm welcome from host although slightly disappointed that we couldn't order breakfast because we arrived at 6.25pm and the cutoff was at 6pm. We needed to be away promptly the next morning and it would have been great to have had breakfast before we left. Minor glitch and I'd be happy to stay there again. Good table/light/Wi-Fi for working

Thank you for your feedback, we definitely value it. We are glad you enjoyed the comforts our property has to offer (minus breakfast) and do hope to see you again. We will look into the cut off time for the ordering of breakfast as we base it on the supermarket closing time but may be able to move it to 6.30 pm at the latest. Kind Regards The Team from the Rocks Chalets.

I loved this place. It doesn't look like much when you drive up but each chalet is set apart with its own private outdoor space and deck. I could have stayed there for a month and been content. The chalet's are large and have plenty of places to relax. The bathrooms are also spacious. The chalets have everything you could want and are super clean. I love all the wood and my chalet had a private yard with a deck at the far end with 2 chairs and a table with a candle. Peaceful and quiet. The town of Takaka is wonderful and so are the beaches. Staff was super friendly.
