The location of Oleander is perfect. Within sight of the Atlantic Ocean and it's crashing waves. The use of the lovely swimming pool was a bonus. A 5 minute walk to local supermarket for all your provision and duty free shops. One for wines and s
Iris and the other for gifts. Close buy were numerous restaurants, Indian, Italian, Chinese and very nice coffee shop. Five minutes walk in the other direction was the Caribbean. Locals beach bar/restaurants on the beach. The food was fab. Try Patsy's but remember you are in the Caribbean and this isn't a quick eating experience. It should be savoured as you watch the sun setting. The flat itself is extremely well equipped. It is light and airy. Very clean. The verandah is huge. I wouldn't fail to recommend this 1st floor apartment and look forward to a repeat visit some other time.

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 26 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Wow, this was by far the best vacation ever. Avenice, the apartment manager, met us at the airport and provided us with what we consider white glove service our entire stay. My husband bought me a new Go-Pro camera and I forgot the card for the camera. Avenice went to town and got me the card I needed. She was never too busy to answer any of the many questions we had and always did do with a smile. Needless to say, we now consider her a near and dear friend.

The Oleander apartment was filled with everything we needed and it felt like home very shortly after our arrival. The apartment has a large balcony where we enjoyed our morning coffee with a cool trade wind breeze. It has dual power 220 and 110 and supports both British and American appliances. To our surprise, the speed and quality of the Internet was so good, my husband was able to hold a number of excellent video conferences during our stay.

We we’re also conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores and beaches, while at the same time enjoying a quiet sense of privacy when we wanted it. Our biggest endorsement of the Oleander apartment and our vacation there is that we booked for a month next year before the end of our stay. We look forward to being back in our wonderful home away from home, seeing Avenice, and all of our new friends in Saint Kitts.

“Great location, spacious clean apartment, Avenice a star”
Reviewed 13 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Stayed at Oleander for 5 nights by myself, was met at the airport by Avenice, who then showed me the apartment and gave recomendations for eating, supermarket, taxis etc. 5 minute walk to the strip, felt very safe doing it by myself even at night, 5 minutes to supermarket and taxi rank a little further. Perfect location for a short stay...

“Great Location and Awesome Property Manager”

As another reviewer stated, it was a bit scary to wire transfer a large sum of money to an overseas bank, but everything worked out more perfectly than I could have imagined. Both the owner of the condo, Dianne, and the property manager, Avenice, were great to work with.

Since Avenice was off island when we arrived, she had her assistant, Clarissa, meet us at the airport. Clarissa held a sign with out last name, so she was easy yo find. She put us in a cab and then immediately met us at the condo to let us in, and give us keys and a brief orientation. Avenice made arrangements to meet with us first thing Monday morning (we arrived on Saturday afternoon) to give us a more thorough orientation, answer any questions about the condo and/or the island, and to recommend tours and drivers. She spent all the time we needed answering questions, and got us both the extra et of keys we requested and phone minutes immediately. Upon checkout she was also very friendly and after verifying that everything was still in working order, she returned our security deposit in cash. The whole process was very simple.

The condo itself was a bit cramped because there is A LOT of furniture in the living area. We moved some of it around for our week's stay to make things more comfortable and then the place was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedrooms was a godsend. The living area also had an air conditioning unit, but we didn't use it. We spent most of our time on the huge balcony which had an amazing breeze constantly blowing off of the Atlantic. We also used the pool daily. We usually swam in the evenings, before or after supper, and we used the (unmanned) pool bar to store our drinks and snacks for easy access. Since it is the off season, we had the pool to ourselves most days.

The Atlantic Beach is very close to the condo; it is down a short path right on the grounds of the St. Christopher Club (the condo complex). Be aware though that the beach may be unusable. While we were there, the beach was covered in seaweed. COVERED. There were (and I am not exaggerating here), six feet deep piles of it extending across the entire beach, while more continued to wash in from the ocean. This is obviously nobody's fault, and as I understand it, it's also an unusual occurrence. Any local I spoke to said they'd never seen this much seaweed on the island, ever. Please don't come to this condo (at least anytime soon), and expect to take a long walk down the Atlantic coastline because it is truly unpassable. Yet, the view was lovely, and as stated before, the breeze was unparalleled.

The condo is also nicely situated. In one direction are some more upscale restaurants, what looked to be a beautiful golf course (we don't golf so we didn't check it out), a coffee shop, a pizza place, a cab stand, and RAMS (a minimart). We walked to the market almost everyday to pick up drinks and snacks. In the other direction is "the strip" and South Frigate Bay Beach." This is a fun place to eat and get drinks, and we splashed around in the sea on days when we didn't want to take a cab to on of the other beaches.

This really is the perfect place to stay for a home base in which to comfortably explore the island at your own leisure.

“All the Comforts of Home”
Reviewed 3 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We had some concern in wiring over $1000 to an unknown off-shore bank account and had to make a leap-of-faith to believe that that we'd actually have a place to stay when we arrived, but it all worked perfectly. Avenice met us at Hertz and led us to the second-floor condo to show us the unit and turn over the keys; she even provided us with a cell phone for island calls. The unit was well-stocked and included a washer and dryer. The bed was firm and the shower large. Cable channels are limited and a couple of the remote controls needed fresh batteries, but everything else was fine. Extra touches like the books, movies, and beach chairs/umbrella were appreciated. We had our own quiet "Happy Hours" on the Balcony with flavored rums from the nearby duty free shop while enjoying the trade winds and the sound of the ocean. Restaurants and groceries are available within an easy 5-10 minute walk each way. The beach was eroded and unswimmable at the property and suffered from an abundance of kelp washed up on it (but not cleaned up), presumably from Atlantic storms; the south beaches on the Caribbean side are better (e.g., Friar's Beach). The pool and landscaping are unimpressive and there was no BBQ grille. Avenice also called twice to check on us during the week. Oleander is clean, comfortable, and convenient; we'd stay here again.
