Ok , having read various mixed reviews we were a bit unsure about our visit. Firstly , folk must remember this is not a city or boutique hotel .....younare in the highlands. The water colour is what I would expectvas it comes straight off the hills . The lochside setting is beautiful with VIEWS changing dependent on time of day and weather.
We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building , without a loch view, perfectly adequate.and comfortable, with plentiful hot water. One thing to note there is no lift so if you are on the second floor you will get plenty of exercise which is a good thing after the filling breakfast.
Breakfast provided us with an extensive choice...from kippers, full Scottish to fresh fruit smoothie.
Beware of the midges ....they were plentiful and there is very little anyone can do to avoid them ....get some SMIDGE. Yes there were flies around to but they are indicative of the highlands in spring and summer as walkers and hikers will tell anyone.
Internet access was limited as was a phone signal .....but you are halfway up a Scottish loch and on holiday ......a great excuse to take a break and talk to people, or just enjoy the tranquil setting.
