“Perfectly lived up to the billing!”

When I first saw the reviews for Ginger Cottage, I was slightly suspicious. Surely nowhere could be that wonderful?
Well, I'm happy to say that the reviews on here were spot on - the place is idyllic!
We arrived - three hours late thanks to Storm Doris in the UK - and were greeted at the airport then driven to Marigot Bay. There we were met by the ever-smiling George who showed us to the cottage.
The cottage was clean, well-equipped and we arrived to find a bowl of freshly-picked grapefruit and coconut.
Next morning, the full beauty of the place revealed itself.
I doubt there is a better view in all of Marigot Bay. You can sit on the terrace and watch the superyachts sailing in and out of the harbour...and the sunsets!!!
Marigot Bay itself is low-key and tasteful.
As other people have mentioned on here, the little supermarket in the marina is eye-popping expensive but, hey, it's a corner shop for people who own superyachts; what do you expect? A good tip is to stock up at the Massy Stores supermarket in Cul de Sac on your way there.
There are some lovely restaurants - our favourites were Masala Bay (excellent lunchtime tasting menu) and Chateau Mygo.
The beach is literally three minutes' walk from the cottage but for a really good beach with superb snorkelling, go for a walk to Trou Rolland, just to the south of Marigot Bay - there's a lovely scramble down through the woods.
And for some more adventure, the nature trail from above Oasis to the back of Rainforest Hideaway is a gem.
Marigot Bay is a magical place but be prepared to take your magical credit card.
Ginger Cottage was a pleasure and richly deserves the high praise it receives.

“Fantastic Cottage, Beautiful View !”

The two of us loved our stay at Ginger Cottage .We were picked up at the airport by wonderful Lucretia and enjoyed the rustic east coast drive that cut across through the scenic green valley and the center, stopping for groceries, and on to the west coast , ending in beautiful Marigot Bay.
From there, we took the one minute boat ride to the north side of the bay and a 5 minute walk up to our lovely home for the week. George, who lives in the cottage below, is friendly and very helpful with the luggage as well as anything you need through the week. He took us to the beautiful Anse Cochon for a day of snorkelling on one of our days there.
The cottage is perfect for two, with a single wall galley kitchen, microwave, toaster, fridge, drip coffee maker, kettle, gas stove, large shower in the bathroom, king bed, living room table, some wicker furniture, and a great little patio with a table for two that was great for breakfasts and drinks at sunset ! George had a basket of fresh grapefruits picked for us when we needed them from the tree on the steep slope nearby. Best when squeezed with local Chairman's Reserve rum ! You can walk to three restaurants on the north side of the bay in minutes. The locals are very laid back and friendly .
I can see where binoculars would come in handy....
Thank You to George, Lucretia and Enrica for a fantastic stay. Highly recommended !

This is by no means a resort but if you want to feel semi-local , comfortable, close to everything and have tons of privacy, this is your place. A few things could be cleaner and the beach could be better, The views are out of this world. George is great, let Cyrus give you a ride and make fresh fruit juice with fruit from the trees in your yard. Awesome surprise!

My husband surprised me for a milestone birthday trip to St. Lucia! We stayed in Ginger Cottage for 7 days and now that we are home, I dream about the day we will return!

This cottage is located on the pointe towards the ocean with magnificent views! Each night while others are enjoying the sunset on their sailboats, or have to leave their locations to view it, we too were enjoying it on one of our two decks or even from inside the cottage, as it is surrounded by walls of windows! Gorgeous flowers and coconut trees, grapefruit, lime surround. It is quite a climb to the cottage on a tiled walkway, but inclined and few steps. Good exercise!

The cottage is beautiful on the interior also, with white tiled floors and wicker furniture which gives that tropical feel! It's is an open concept arrangement, although segmented rooms. King sized bed has a firm mattress. A small but functional kitchen is a separate room. We ate out at one of the many wonderful restaurants nightly, but kept snacks, etc. in the kitchen. (Two restaurants are walking distance, Dolittles, which we loved and RainForrest Hideaway (great also) and others easily accessible by water taxi....loved Chatteau Mygo)!!! The Ginger Cottage bathroom is plenty large with a huge tiled shower.

There is no air conditioning, but many fans throughout, which is all needed. As soon as the sun sets it cools down immediately.

George took excellent care of us while there! The cottage is only accessible by boat, and George greeted us upon arrival in his boat and assists in every way! He took us on the BEST snorkel trip to Anse Cochon bay and spent the day on the secluded gorgeous beach only accessible by boat! George made us feel safe and took good care of us through out our stay!

Enrika and Lucretia were very helpful and gracious with making arrangements for the cottage and with communicating with us by phone and e-mail. Many thanks for making this so effortless for us! Thank you Enrika for allowing us to stay in you beautiful cottage!

We could have never left Marigot Bay as it is so beautiful, but we rented a car and traveled up and down to many gorgeous beaches along the west coast, to the Pitons, and many other beautiful locations Caribbean ocean side. Loved the Anse Chastanet beach! Also, took a catamaran down to snorkel at the Pitons! Awesome! Drove to the beautiful Botanical Gardens and waterfall! Hiked the hills on Pigeon Island National Park which is another beautiful view and spent the day on the Gros Inlet beach. Shopped in Castries and Rodney Bay. Be sure to eat at Brown Sugar on Castries Bay!!!

Marigot Bay and specifically Ginger Cottage is a breathtakingly, beautiful, magical place that we did not want to leave and look forward to returning again someday! :)). Thank you again for making this an unforgettable, unbelievable, perfect stay in captivating Marigot Bay!!!

“Absolutely lovely.”

On a whim, we chose to visit St. Lucia. After looking at available accommodations, we decided on Ginger Cottage. Our main reasons were the views and the great reviews the cottage has. We were very happy with our choice!
The cottage feels very private, despite being completely open and screened in on two sides. This openness invites a terrific breeze which keeps the cottage comfortable during the day and cool enough at night that the coverlet was needed. There is a table for dining, a hanging chair swing, and a sitting area, which all provide relaxing views of the bay, There are two sitting areas on the balconies outside. There is a firm king size bed, ceiling fan, and floor fan in the bedroom. A small but very functional kitchen provided us with everything we needed to always have beverages and snacks on hand, and to make simple meals for when we didn't feel like going out. The bathroom was large and the shower had plenty of hot water. Cell phone and beach towels were provided. Maid service was Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
Because the cottage is on the side of the bay without road access, taking a ferry is required. The small boat runs at all times, costs $2USD/person/day, and is super easy. We paid upfront for a week pass. We chose to rent a car for part of our stay. We left the car in a parking lot right across the bay and ferried back to the cottage. This is much easier than it might sound! We bought staples at the nearby Marigourmet but recommend the Flying J's in Cul de Sac for proper grocery shopping, especially if you're vegetarian.
I agree with the other reviewers: the cottage and views are wonderful but what really sets it apart is the warmth, hospitality, and thoughtfulness of Enrica and George. The communication and ease of booking were only the beginning. Throughout our stay, Enrica was in contact and I knew that if I needed anything, she would be available to help or to answer questions. Going out with George on his boat to snorkel was the highlight of our trip. Enrica went above and beyond in such sweet ways that I will always remember them and this trip.
Thank you Enrica!!! We will see you again someday!
