This is a 3 star hotel. We stayed two nights and it was enough. The hotel is clean, the food was ok, but the service was terrible. No spoon for dessert, the waitress does not put attention to you. They do not put water in your table. They are talking to each other and ignoring you. Long waiting line outside of the restaurant for dinner. Long line inside of the restaurant for food (spaghettis, chicken, pork, etc). The pool was packed with people from the area. They spend only the day in the hotel. We were unable to use the pool or any table around the pool. The guests do not have any priority. We were not allow to play dominos in the tables in the lobby bay. It is the first time that something like this happen to us. The shower in the room was clogged and the room was flooded. The toilet was defective. If you have plans to stay in this hotel, please think that it is 3 star and only stay if you are going to El Nicho or do hiking in the mountains. The good things are the lake and mountain view from the balcony and the boat trip in the Hanabanilla lake.

As the title says, the facilities here are pretty standard, nothing wrong with it, but nothing great either. However, the view from our hotel room was really beautiful, with a clear view of the lake and surrounding mountains. There are a lot of nice things nearby that you can visit, including the lake itself, which is definitely worth a trip.

The staff in this hotel is what we'd like to emphasize on, because they were some of the most helpful people we met on our entire trip. One day we had a lot of trouble getting money, and didn't have any transportation, and well, one of the chefs basically took care of everything for us, and even lended us money for food.

Overall we'd strongly recommend the place, especially because of the staff!

Our family enjoyed our three day stay here very much. If you too do appreciate the cuban way and people, you will find them here. I believe we were the only foreigners during our stay. Don't expect anyone to speak foreign languages. The lobby has one of the best internet accesses in Cuba, which means that it is identical to all other slow and unreliable pay-per-the-hour ETECSA driven wifi spots around Cuba :-).
Fantastic setting in the middle of the beautiful nature. The warm pool with great views and spiced with reggaeton tunes all day was a welcome break from the vibrant citys. Make sure to see the spectacular sunset from the rooftop bar. Rooms and area were nice and clean.
Bar and food prices are very reasonable despite the lack of alternative choices in the area. But don't go here for a gastronomic experience; the buffet restaurant is very traditionally cuban, without much efforts to presentation nor taste.
All rooms are similar, with a capacity for 2 adults and one child. If you book two rooms, they will be adjoined by a door.
Do take one of the boat trips on the lake (locals offer them for cheaper prices at the hotel fence). The tiny very rural restaurant across the lake serves delicious fish and more.
If you can do with Spanish/body language and can don't emphasize gastronomy, you won't be disappointed here.

Room Tip: All rooms face the pool and lake view. Upper floors have better views. We did not find noise to be a problem

If you go to the artificial lake Hanabanilla, there is no much choice to stay. It seems it is the only hotel in the area, so you have no choice anyway.
The hotel is big; but due to holiday weekend even it was overcrowded by multi-generational families (not only Cubans). People were having fun in the pool (it worked), nobody swam in the lake. The lobby bar was overcapacity (but they make not bad coffee). Room was OK. There was hot water. Air conditioner worked. Staff was friendly (they have so many Latin clients, I am not sure if they need speak other languages there). Internet worked. There was pool (billiard).
What I did not like, it was their restaurant room (stuffy) and food generally.
All in all, nothing too much negative. And if you managed to get there, you will survive.
