I had one of my best meals while in Bavaria here. One of the diners with me was German so it helped a lot with the menu. I started with a creamy white asparagus soup, in season, and it was very delicious. There were pieces of asparagus that just melted in your mouth. For my entree I had the deer. It was cooked perfectly, medium (more medium rare to Americans). The sauce/gravy complemented the meat and did not compete with it. There were a few sweet red things, maybe currants, but they we're not so sweet and over powering it ruined the dish.
The staff was very friendly, cash only. There's out door seating, full bar, beers and wine. Do make a reservation, it seems to be a very popular spot. The entrance to the restaurant is through the hotel found down a drive way. My German diner said the food was really good.
