Pretty small site on the way to Rajshahi or Puthia. Can be very crowded and as usual with Bangladesh very chaotic, even in a small town

Recommend to visit on Friday (midd day). Many pilgrims from the neighbourhood area comes here on every Friday for prayers and Sacrifice animals, cooking and folk fair are very interesting. Walking around the mosque and the village by the lake is safe and nicer. Just ask someone for a plate and stand on the que for your meal, it is welcome and ment to share.

The mosque is noteworthy for its exquisite terracotta ornamentation. It is interesting to note that the additional prayer chamber created by means of a raised platform in the north-west corner within the building appears to have been an exclusive gallery for the governor who ruled the area as a nominee of the reigning sultan. This sort of special prayer chamber, noticed in some other Bengal mosques, appears to have been meant as a substitute of maqsura (Maqsurah (Arabic مقصورة) (literally "closed-off space"), an enclosure, a box or wooden screen near the mihrab or the center of theqibla wall)- a feature introduced in the mosque architecture of early Islam for the safety of the caliphs. This particular feature of the Bagha mosque has given it the status of a Jami mosque.

We've all seen lovely mosques - either in real life in pictures. This is not one of the most impressive ones around but it is a nice detour if you are otherwise on your way to/from Rajshahi. There is at least on tout cruising the place offering tours (going price was 50 taka) but as we already had a local guide we didn't need his services.

The mosque is somewhat interesting because of its many domes on its roof and block like structure. Inside it is not terribly interesting though the brickwork on the roof is pleasing.

There is a market next door to this mosque where you will be able to pick up all the usual snacks and the sort of crowd that tourists always seem to accrue in Bangladesh...

You can visit the mosque and find the Muslim ancestry history of Bengal. Near to Rajshahi city. I travel to Rajshahi by train from Dhaka. Regular flight is there. But airport is 10 miles from city. so you must arrange car before reaching there.
