Podere Rosignano is a beautiful house with plenty of space for the families to spread out. The four bedrooms were comfortable for our party of 6 adults and one child.
The location is hard to find. Give yourself plenty of time to find the place. It is on a dirt road 15 minutes from the nearest food access. If you arrive late make sure you bring plenty of food. The name bed and breakfast may be a tad misleading, as there was no breakfast. Day trips to local hill towns are about an hour for San Gimignano or Siena.
Make sure to bring soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and food to the location. The welcome presentation was rushed. There were towels for each person as the only hospitality item provided.

Rosalba and Maurizio also will come to your holiday villa and cook an authentic Tuscan dinner. We organised this through the Tourist information office. We emailed them and chose our menu from the options which they sent. They then came to our villa and prepared, cooked and served us a delicious 4 course dinner, then left the kitchen spotless. There was more than enough food for everyone and we had lots leftover to feed us the next day. It was a real treat and they are a lovely, friendly couple.
With their backup team of two dogs and three donkeys, Rosalba and Maurizio make any visitor to their Tuscan farm, Podere Rossignano, very welcome. The farmhouse is old, of stone construction, and is rectangular in form. It is beautifully proportioned and stands in a large irregular garden with mature trees.
Guests stay in the upper floor of the farmhouse where there are four bedrooms, one to each corner. Between the bedrooms there is a bathroom to each side of the house. Central to the upper floor is a large kitchen/dining/sitting room which easily and comfortably contained the activities of our family party of eight adults. The proprietors live on the ground floor and like to point out that they occupy the space formerly reserved for the animals: there is little trace of that now.
There is a national forest to one side of the farm. To the other the view is an open over a broad valley with Radicondoli, the closest village, to one side. Wisps of steam in the distance indicate a number of small geothermal power plants. This is a local curiosity well worth the visit.
Our stay at Podere Rossignani, Nightingale Farm to us, was a delightful one and we have no hesitation in recommending it as a place where one can quietly step off from the world for a short while. Our only regret is that the farm is too far from Radicondoli to make it a target for a lunchtime walk.
