We stayed at the Matina Pefkos Apart hotel for 11 nights in August, which we booked through Jet 2 on the half board package. 2 adults & 1 teenage lad. We stayed in room 812 which was a studio apartment and plenty big enough for the 3 of us.
There was a delay with our flights so we arrived pretty late. Thankfully we had paid a bit extra for the private transfer to the hotel which reduced the journey time by half . The ABC online shop is a great service, we arrived to a fully stocked fridge. As someone with coeliac disease it was amazing to find they offer a good selection of gluten free staple items & also lots of other great stuff as well to keep the whole family happy!
The First night we didn't sleep very well as there was an issue with the air-conditioning but after speaking to reception they sent someone out straight away to fix it & thankfully it worked really well from then on-wards.
The Matina apartments are situated minutes from Lee beach which has stunning clear water & is great for swimming. We hired a boat which cost 120 euros for 2 hours & sailed to Lindo’s, st Pauls bay & Navarone bay. We wished we had added on an extra hour so we could have spent a bit of time snorkelling at the caves in Lindo’s. On another day my husband & teenage son hired a jets ski's for 30 minutes at 75 euros for the 2 of them. If you don’t like to travel far on holiday there is plenty to do in Pefkos but if like us you like to explore then id highly recommend hiring a car which we did through a company called Marathon for 4 days. We drove right around the island visiting amongst other places, Rhodes old town, Lindo’s (& the Acropolis), Butterfly Valley & the furthest south tip where the Mediterranean sea meets the Aegean.
The food at the hotel is outstanding. Breakfast is buffet style & although only a small selection it is constantly being stocked up & in the evening we ate most nights at the Meltemi restaurant as the choice of Greek food that they offered was really good. They were so helpful with me needing a gluten free diet & as the food is cooked to order they can tweak some of the meals to make them suitable for people with dietary needs. We also had snacks at the people bar & the pool bar which were reasonably priced & a good choice.
In close proximity there are loads of restaurants & bars in walking distance so plenty of places to eat out as well or go for ice cream, waffles or a cocktail.
If you choose Pefkos in Rhodes as your destination I'd highly recommend the Metina apartments. Each & every member of the staff work really hard & they are so friendly & welcoming.

Fantastic Hotel staff super friendly location spot on from hotel reception to beach 58 seconds, lovely pool view room spotless and we pre ordered drinks snacks from the on-site ABC supermarket so on arrival had cold beer pop milk waiting for us, hotel grounds are lovely and clean pools area likewise no issues with sun beds and we was there in
August , we were there self catering so we had breakfast most days in the people’s restaurant lovely food great choice great staff thank you Athrodite for making us so welcome from our 1st day to last ,the hotel restaurants from the Italian to the super rooftop one are fantastic great fresh food ,entertainment again very good lots of different shows on in both bars,Fantastic Hotel great location super staff Athrodite and George went there as guests came back as friends thank you

Been here a few times over the years and it keeps getting better and better.

Booked a 2 toilet / shower apartment with Jet 2 which had a bigger balcony than the 1 toilet one, and it over looked the pool. Very happy with this and worth the small amount extra to go from 1 toilet to the 2 (especially with 3 people in the apartment).

Went at the end of May and never had any problems in getting sun beds. Of the 2 big adult pools we went to the one opposite our apartment (see photos). Love this walk in pool as it is fairly big so plenty area to swim around in. The kids pool was good as well with lots of families using it

Our room was OK for 3 adults and was cleaned / sheets changed enough for us.

Went self catering and only had breakfast at the hotel. The cooked breakfast here was excellent. The in hotel mini shop was great and very handy for buying lots of things you would need when self catering.

Hotel is well located given it is only c40 yards from the beach and a very short walk to the start of the restaurants. Lee Beach Cafe Bar (c30 yards from hotel entrance) was great for lunch (went there a few times) with the best restaurant on our holiday being Artemis).

There is live entertainment on for some nights during the week which was good.

All the staff were hard working / polite with special mention to the bar staff and people serving breakfast.
