Incredible hotel, me my partner and our 3 boys (8, 5 & 5 months) were half board for two weeks. As well as another 40 family and friends were there for a wedding.
The food in the restaurant was absolutely incredible, everything was hand made and freshly cooked. The staff were amazing and accommodated us on a number of occasions when we all ate together, even then service was amazing, nobody was waiting around and the food quality never once suffered.
I've seen on other reviews people commenting on the rooms being out dated, this is not the case, yes they are very plain however they are clean, tidy and extremely spacious (we had a family room) and even with a large travel cot and buggy in the living area we still had more than enough room for the 5 of us.
The two pools were great for kids as they are relatively shallow for the majority and very easy to see the deep end, my 5 year old spent a lot of time without arm bands due to this.
The bar staff were brilliant with us and all the kids, dancing and having fun with us all. Once the staff recognised us and our kids after a day or so, the kids loved that they were able to go and get drinks by themselves and put on to our tab if we ok'd it with the staff.
The wedding reception and food was unbelievable and the food was completely different to the standard menu which made it even more amazing.
Overall we would 100% go back and will be looking to book soon.

Currently sat around the pool on our last day at The Matina Aparthotel in Pefkos. I can honestly say that we have had such a lovely holiday here. The hotel is situated in an amazing spot, 2 minute walk from the beautiful Lee beach, where the water is so warm and clear and the fish are in abundance, snorkeling is a must.... There are many many bars and restaurants that are all equally as good as each other and all in a stones throw from The Matina, whilst you would not know this as we could not hear the hussle and bussle once in our room. There is plenty to do in Pefkos, a must is the Glass Bottom Boat, we had a great time!
Now on to The Matina, it's a great place!!! We opted for self catering, after many years of all inclusive holidays, we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, that is basic but very clean, had everything we needed. The hotel delivers a fantastic service, there are two pools, we have never had a sunbed problem I add, with pool side bars. There is a lovely restaurant, good food! The amenities are excellent and the hotel is clean.
The staff are at another level! Such lovely, hard working people. They get to know you, even remember your names! Nothing is too much! We have watched them welcome people back that, have returned year after year! Must give a shout out to George at the People's bar, who always greeted us warmly, and worked hard to make sure people were happy, along with the rest of the team at the People's bar! The other bar is chilled, with entertainment twice a week, and has just the best bar staff!! Sergo, David and finally the wonderful Filiw, thank you for making us feel welcome! They are just ace!!!
Overall I would highly recommend The Matina, I can reassure you that you will have an amazing stay!

I'm just home from my holiday here and it was brilliant. i had emailed prior to arrival with a request of a ground floor apartment which was honoured on arrival. Check in was fast and easy, the man on reception even helped us to the room with our cases. We had done an online shop with the onsite supermarket prior to arrival and this was delivered and in the room on arrival-even put away! We had a 1 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment that was located in block 8, overlooking the main pool and people snack bar. Room was well equipped and the maid we had for the week was excellent. Room was cleaned daily. Always managed to get a sun lounger and the main pool/childrens pool. There is another pool also which is by the matina snack bar but i didn't use that pool, had a drink in the matina bar and staff were friendly. There is a large shaded play area by the kids club which is great for getting the little ones out of the midday sun. Staff and service at the people snack bar was great, food is very nice and reasonably priced. The food at the meltemi restaurant is beautiful and very reasonably priced. Again staff are great and always smiling, infact that was the case for every staff member at the matina. Nothing is too much trouble. Short 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach and a few minute the opposite way out of the complex to the resort center. My first visit here but definitely not the last. See you next year!
