Came here for lunch after a wine tasting. The selection of wines were fantastic and fairly priced. The porterhouse steaks which we had one from the local area and one from near Rome were amazing. The pasta was tasty and the olive oil at the trouble was delicious. It’s not a cheap lunch but for the quality of food you get it’s well worth it. Vegetables and potatoes are served with the steak.

We discovered luckily this trattoria on our way to Vicenza. Located in this’ll Prosecco village. It’s mainly a place for great meat. The chef cooks by the fireplace the beef or your choice, and I never encountered such a choice : 12 different type of cows from Europe, UK, US, Japan, Argentina, and many appropriate cuts. No menu, you order from the chef’s explanations. Meat is cooked to perfection, served with radicchio grilled by the fireplace too, and several other veggies. Price are very reasonable for the quality.

Our experience from beginning to end was disappointing. We were largely ignored and went without wine or water for 20 minutes after being seated. Our menu was in Italian so we read and understood very little. Our server didn't help much. Just said "you should eat this one". So we went with his recommendation. Red flags we should have left but we stayed. Server never asked how we wanted the steak cooked and when I ordered Prosecco he never asked if I wanted brut, dry or extra dry. Again, more red flags of a poor choice. The steak arrived and was very tough. Probably the worst bistecca we have had in Italy. Other tables of Italians were treated very differently than us. They were brought their cuts of steak to examine before being grilled. We were not. Others that ordered Prosecco were offered a choice. We were not. My wine glass sat empty before my meal arrived with no offer of more wine. Our Airbnb host spoke very highly of Giancarlo and his restaurant but very disappointing all around. I recommend dining else where.

A meat eater's paradise. The four of us shared the largest T-bone we had ever seen (1.5 kg), which was simply cooked over a fireplace grill with lashings of special salt. Also came with roast spuds and a smattering of grilled veggies.

To our great surprise, we scarfed the whole thing, despite some light meat sweats towards the end. The meal is a great production, as the meat is cooked right in the dining room and there is always much exclaiming when the beast arrives à table. The charming young Italian woman at the table next to us crossed herself when presented with her steak! It was delicious, as were the starters (pheasant tartare for some and a few little gnocchi, I think, for the others). The house red was yummy, but there is a serious cellar as well.

I would recommend this place for the atmosphere and the high quality meat, but it was the most expensive dinner we had in the region by a ways (about 4 - 5 Euros per 100 grams of beef). There're also other meat choices like lamb, veal, and pork chops, but it's clear that the regulars' choice is the beef).

This is the greatest pasta and steak restaurant and we always make sure that we have a meal here at least once a year when visiting the prosecco region around Valdobbiadene. There is no need to bother with a menus because the recommendations are always perfetto. This year we had Italian beef fillet, cooked to perfection on the open fire in the rustic dining room. It was totally delicious melt in your mouth, and every steak we have eaten since has not compared to the quality of il Borgo's. This is our totally unbiased recommendation and a trip to il Borgo will be something you will remember.
