This hotel is right opposite the ski lift - so a near ski in/out experience.

The food is excellent - some evenings a set menu (with options per course) and others a buffet. The food changed daily and was full of local delicacies - which we enjoyed greatly. There are some 'international' dishes for the unadventurous but I can't comment on those as we eschewed them in favour of the local cuisine.

There is a ski rental/retail store in the hotel with a good selection of quality equipment for rent or purchase. So, very convenient indeed.

The rooms are on the smaller side and basic but comfortable and fully equipped with everything a skier needs; a comfy bed, powerful shower and ample storage.

The pool, jacuzzi and spa are well laid out and a good way to relax after a day on the slopes.

The hotel bar offers a range of local and international brands and is welcoming.

The staff are welcoming and friendly - even if there is the occasional issue with language. We compromised by speaking French as most of us didn't speak Spanish and some of the staff couldn't speak much English (but their French was fine). That said, we really liked that this was a genuine Spanish resort and wasn't a 'little England' type experience.

Overall, highly recommended.

Great Hotel, very friendly staff. Food incredible for the price - 4 course a la carte meals of high standard. Good pool facilities. This hotel is at the foot of the slopes in front of the 1500 gondola. There are some steps to navigate to access but nothing too strenuous. Pool, sauna, Jacuzzi a nice addition. Baqueira well worth a week visit - ski area amazing. Resort itself quiet. 5 stars.

An excellent hotel, wonderfully located with friendly staff. The rooms were immaculate with abundant hot water. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent, including gluten free options. 4 course dinners had a variety of choices but could have been more vegetarian friendly. Also the dining room at night is far too bright and makes it feel as if you are dining in a canteen. If the lighting could be made softer it really would make a huge improvement and would then make it fit in with the "lounge" area which also has a delightful real fire. It can also get very noisy in the dining rom too. The only real negative for me was the temperature of the water in the swimming pool, far too cold as was the surrounding area. The water also is extremely salty which was rather a surprise. The staff were very friendly at all times, apart from the guy who ran the ski shop within the hotel.

Good value hotel close to lift and shops. There are a couple of ski hire shops right opposite the hotel so it’s very convenient. It’s very family friendly so be prepared for large tables of small children. Food is good quality mountain hotel food. It’s OK. Friendly staff. Ski room is on same level as reception and you get your own lockup and key.

The hotels pictures do not do it justice. I was expecting a typical dark, tired apline hotel, but what a surprise. There was an efficient check in, where unlike other Pyrenees resorts good English was spoken. The rooms had new bathrooms and some had new furnishings. The bed was comfortable, the rooms quiet. The breakfast was good, a decent choice and the room was big enough to cope with the amount of people.

Then when you add on the pool, spa, a nice little bar, lots of choices to eat nearby and the fantastic location near the slopes and you have a winner.

If I was looking for any downsides, the parking was expensive and cramped, however a 5 minute walk takes you to a free (outdoor) public car park.
