Can't say enough about how well Wendy takes care of her guests! We've stayed in a lot of apartment vacation rentals all over Europe and I have to say Wendy is the best hostess we've ever seen! She knows just what you'll need and provides everything to make your stay one of the most memorable vacations of your life!
We loved how welcoming the apartment was with a bottle of Prosecco, fresh bread, butter, jam, Nutella, and a package of pasta and sauce. This is just the right thing to get you started if you arrive on a weekend or later in the day after shops are closed.
Check out the bakery and butcher shop just a block or two away for wonderful local food. There's also an open air market in the next village over (Leno) on Tuesdays. Lots of fun stuff there and a very pretty little village on the water to visit as well.
Five stars for the bed and bedding too! We we're treated to freshly ironed linen pillow cases!
The village of Sala Comacina was in a wonderful location to access the rest of Lake Como with easy ferry access a few times a day as well as the bus route and walking trails. You don't need a car here if unless you want to drive, and trust me, you have to be extremely brave or crazy to drive the roads in this part of Italy.
Only two small details would make this place better - less road noise (bring ear plugs for sleeping) and apartment internet access - that's it.
Don't miss this place!!

“A great Italian village experience on Lake Como”

All correspondence from Wendy prior to arrival was clear and informative. When we arrived 30 mins in advance of our agreed meeting time we sent an SMS to Wendy and she met us in 5 minutes. Wendy showed us around the house and fully explained all necessary points.
She was available at short notice for any emergencies.
The facility was as described with plenty of extra linen and pillows. Beds were comfortable. Our comfort was enhanced by the provision of some basic pantry items in addition to a bottle of prossecco and bread.
Parking the car for unloading luggage was a little challenging as was finding a park in the evening. You could easily manage without a car as the buses go through regularly. The ferry however has only 2 pickup times in each direction so is less reliable.

“Beautiful traditional Italian villa on Lake Como”
Reviewed 27 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

It is in a fantastic location 1 minute from the lake, you feel part of this very friendly small community and you are able to experience what it would be like to live in this environment. The accomodation is pristine Wendy goes to a lot of trouble to ensure your stay is as pleasurable as possible, wine on arrival with little box of essentials - bread, pasta and coffee. The apartment is spotless and has all the essentials that you would expect coming from Australia - toaster and tea. The bath is quaint but very functional to rest your weary travel legs. as there was no one coming after us Wendy was very accommodating of allowing us to access the apartment until we left - which was close to 4pm on day of departure.
