Fabulous service all around! Family of 4 with a car rental and lots of activities planned yet every meal was fresh, very tasty at almost every hour! The staff couldn't have been more courteous. We so want to come back too! Comfy beds and great housekeeping were more than welcoming after a few hours of pool+ party time. We loved it!

My husband and I just returned from our second stay at the Grand Paraiso. We loved every minute of it! We were spoiled from the second we arrived until we left. The service was wonderful. The room was great. We loved the nightly turn-down service and the room service coffee/breakfast in the mornings. Every meal was delicious. I went to Zumba class with Luis, who is a great instructor! He made the class fun and energetic even for the beginners in the class. We also used the dive shop that is down the beach and associated with the hotel, Dressel Divers. They were wonderful to dive with. We can't say enough good things about this place. We only wish we could go back sooner!!

We had a fantastic time. My husband and I traveled with two other couples and all 6 of us agreed that it couldn't have been better. The food was outstanding and the service was incredible. There was a guy at the pool and beach area named Ricardo who took exceptional care of all the guests. We never wanted for anything. When arriving at the pool he would ask how many towels we needed and then would run (literally run) and get them and put them out on the chairs for us. Even rolling up a towel for each of us to use as a pillow. The young men who led all of the pool activities were great too. Would highly recommend this resort. We hope to go back some day!!!

Great all inclusive resort with fun and friendly staff (Ricardo was always helpful). Perfect for our vacation intent which was relax mode around beach\pool with no kids. Would definitely go back in a heart beat.

Grand Paraiso is situated at the end of the Iberostar complex housing the other resorts along with a golf course, tennis courts, convention center, small shopping area with food, gym, spa, etc. Colored wrist bands are given and worn during your whole stay indicating which resort you're from. Grand Paraiso has access to other resorts, while other resorts do not have access to Grand Paraiso.

Can't speak to activities available since we chilled the whole time, but here are thoughts on other parts...

Rooms - clean and comfy as a hotel room should be, plenty of space, large bathroom, patio area with lounge chair and swinging chair, stocked mini fridge with snacks (chips, nuts, chocolate)

Beach - no complaints sitting on the lounge chairs under umbrellas. Waiter comes around to take orders of drinks (and food if needed). Felt prompt. Never got in the water, but the water line looked rocky.

Food and drink - standard fare. Buffet (no reservations needed) open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Reservations needed for dinner at the specialty restaurants. Taco joint down in the shopping area that's worth a visit for street style tacos. Room service too if you want to stay in.

Tipping - same as anywhere with good service. No need to change to pesos, dollars are just fine. In fact, if you're planning on staying at the resort only, there really isn't a need to convert currency.

Gym/Spa - worked out some to help with the all inclusive drinks and food. Small gym on the Grand Paraiso property. It was sufficient, but got a bit warm. Bigger gym with fitness classes down in the common shopping area. Also in the area was a large spa with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and pool.

Pools - three pools - indoor pool, outdoor tranquil pool, and outdoor main pool with beach view and swim up bar. Only partook of the main pool. Has lounge chairs and cabanas all around. Again, waiters come around to take order. Activities (pool volleyball, relay races, etc) at certain times of day set up by the staff.

My wife and I came to this resort with another couple to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversaries. We had a fabulous time.

There is much to praise about this resort. The service is spectacular. The architecture is beautifully designed. The food is excellent - especially for an all inclusive. The rooms are spacious and well designed. Our Ocean Front king had a large porch. The beach is small and has small swimming areas (free from coral) but it is beautiful - at least when we were there, I understand that seaweed can come ashore sometimes.

Pet peeve complaints are that not all restaurants are open all the time and you must make reservations far in advance (this is clearly due to staffing issues because when we were there the restaurants were half empty. And if you want the rooms cooler than 21 you need to ask the local desk person to change the settings remotely.

All in all though I cannot say anything really negative about this resort -- and My wife and I are picky!

      Room:
We’ve got the room on the first floor. Normally I would prefer higher floors, but even on the first floor it felt very private. Room is very spacious, has everything you need. Never used the Jacuzzi tab, but morning coffee on the balcony swing was a must. Room was always clean, bed was very comfortable and I cannot think of any single thing to complain about.
      Amenities:
Spa was the one area we used every day. Pool is big and refreshing. There are two Jacuzzis, plenty of sitting spaces and nice fresh juice bar. Gym is pretty well equipped, although few machines were out of order. There is a sauna and a Turkish bath in the changing area and they looked pretty good.

      Food:
Although overall food was outstanding I have to give a special mention to a la cart restaurants. I have been to resort a la cart restaurants and have rarely been impressed until we came to Grand. Every single dinner we went to was stellar. From entries to deserts everything was excellent. Buffet food was plenty, fresh and very good. One word of advice, you might not want to order a la cart breakfast as we foolishly did and ended up waiting for about 40 minutes for the food that was already available at the buffet

      Pools and Beach:
There are two pools – quiet pool and activity pool. Quiet pool is just that – very quiet. Activity pool is where you’ll find big bar which is open morning till pool closes. It gets busy here. This is where fun staff happens.
Beach is very beautiful – white sand, clear water. There are areas with coral next to Grand, but there are some areas where it is all sand and you can go swim there. Beach has never been busy. There are tons of palapas, sun beds are cozy and bar service is very good.

      Staff:
One of the best assets. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Your any wish is granted. Nothing but the praise for all staff.

We definitely had a grand experience at the Grand. I would love to come back any time!
