We had a perfect 4 days at Nyumba ya Madau. We have been taking holidays on the Kenya coast for the last 14 years, and this is by far the most appealing place we have stayed in. The house is situated right on the beach and designed to catch the ocean breeze. It is elegant and each corner thoughtfully designed. Perfect for kids, with both sea and pool within 100 meters. Incredibly friendly neighbours, who invited us for a memorable Italian seafood dinner. Why did we have to come home?

I've been to Nyumba ya Madau several times with different friends and we've loved it every time. The place is clean and safe with a friendly personalised service and staff, including a talented chef, Gabriel. He cooks whatever you ask for every day and is also able to recommend you the best available seafood on that day. And if you're vegetarian, you won't be disappointed.
The house is beautifully decorated and sits right on the beach front where you can enjoy a postcard perfect views every day. It also has a private garden on the beach guaranteeing you privacy. If you go as a bunch of friends, there's plenty of room to relax together or take some private time in one of the many gorgeous parts of the house.
If 100% languor and relaxation in a stunning place isn't quite for you, you can mix in some long walks along the beach, out onto the reef at low tide or even visit the nearby water sports centres to canoe on the ocean, take boat trips, go diving and many other physical activities.
Don't hesitate to visit Nyumba ya Madau - you'll have no regrets and be sure to return again and again!

The house is beautiful, decorated and furnished with very good taste. It has great living spaces, with a fantastic veranda where you can enjoy the breeze and watch the ocean, a cosy and cute yard where you can peacefully read among the birds and the flowers, and a lounge where you can access the interesting books and magazines kindly made available by the owner. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The staff was great, they made our stay not only easy but also remarkable (food-wise for example). They were also very friendly to my 3 year old daughter, which made our stay even more pleasant. In other words, we felt at home.
The beautiful beach is just few meters away, and you can easily access it from the house. The location is far from intensely developed areas, yet you can access Watamu or Malindi by taxi for shopping or excursions. I recommend this place both if you are a group (the rooms are nicely separated) and if you are a small family. I especially liked the welcoming atmosphere, the beauty of the interior and exterior spaces, and the amazing natural environment.
