This is an honest hotel; the beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and tidy, the welcome for dogs is touching. Breakfast is perfectly good. There is a massage/ wellness service which is very good. And yet the 'romantic' element isn't there. The bar and lounge are depressing - brightening up the furniture to get rid of the dark brown armchairs would help.
The decision to team up with a restaurant in the shopping centre across the road will have been taken for a reason, but it is not a particularly interesting prospect to eat there if you want anything better than straightforward tourist fare. There are at least a couple of restaurants in Greetsiel, by the harbour, which are better: Fest Land ( which is the best in the village), and Hohes Haus.
The hotel is well-situated, as the walk to the harbour is no more than 5 minutes, so it is a good place to stay, but it would be more attractive if it were more inviting inside.More
