It's a really beautiful place at the beach. In the nights you can hear the sea. The toilets and showers are clean and the kitchen also most of the time. There are lots of activities to do like yoga on the beach. The staff is friendly.

The camp had been recommended to us by friends from NZ which turned out to be the best of luck as we would have driven past without knowing about it.We have not found many other campsites that combine all of the following:Very friendly staff, spotless site, beautifully designed camp garden in a stunning environment, perfect facilities and a focus on sustainability (e.g. recycling bins for almost every type of rubbish). The man at the office said with a smile "Enjoy your stay in paradise" and there was nothing that proved him wrong!

A really nice spacious site, roomy, well run and clean facilities. WiFi is not brilliant. Walk to the beach and listen to the ocean. Close to the sites. Walk to the blow holes and pancake rock, where there is a tourist office and cafes. You can join the yoga on the beach class in the morning or afternoon though beware of the sandflies! Nice walks along the river or hire a kayak. Lots to see and do. Highly recommended.

This campground is actually one of the best we had in New Zealand. We got a spot directly behind the dunes. The facilities were very nice and clean, but the bathrooms had no doors which could make it pretty cold if the weather is bad. The kitchen provides enough cooking areas for everyone.

This little gem of a campground is worth going to Punankaiki just to stay there. Not only is there heaps to do and see around this area, but a stay at this camp is the cream on the cake! It has a really warm, 'homely' and friendly feeling about it. It is only 15 metres (depending where you camp!) to the beautiful beach, surf and fishing.
The young manager (owner?) guy was friendly and helpful. The toilets, showers etc are nice and clean and well look after. Lovely thing about the showers is that there is no time limit or charge, but, you have to keep pushing the button every 20 seconds to keep the hot water going. Such a neat idea!
Can't wait to stay there again. You will need at least three nights here!
