It is quite a distance from the pancake rocks if you are walking there, almost half an hour away. The trail starts with a walk in the forest, after which it opens up to a beautiful coastline. It would be best to be there during low tide as there is a path for you to walk on the beach and see how the waves have undercut the rocks to form the overhanging cliffs.

Enjoyed Pancake rocks amazing rock formation. We went at low tide which meant the blow holes not as spectacular but walked along the fabulous beach which we couldn't have done at high tide.

This is an easy track and a really nice walk thru the forest. Good explanations and discriptions of the local trees and plants. The trail ends at the sea with panoramic view of the coastline. Nice place to sit and have a picnic or just take a break to stop and think what a beautiful place the west coast of New Zealand is.

It is a nice short walk through the bush to the beach. It is possible to got all the way down to the beach, but due to the rain, we did not go all the way down. However it was still an interesting walk
